Piggy Ransom
FOUND by UTAHCHICK in Ogden, UT
I found this between two pallets on the warehouse floor of my workplace, on the back of a flyer for discounted health care.
Chrome Toaster in the far corner of the Cosmic Kitchen
Hurray for Utah Chick! (sometimes knows as UltraChick)

No comments on the pig destructor?
Okay then. I'll just say that's about as cute a little Piggy as I've ever seen anyone draw. Although, because the signmaker used stencils for the lettering, I can't be sure that the pig wasn't also done with the aid of a stencil...

Congrats on having a Find Posted, Utah Chick. I hope you're still coming back here on occasion.

i dunno about the stencil use, Chromey. It looks to me like the letters are written in stencil style, but they're not perfect enough to have actually been done with a stencil. Which gives us hope that the pig is actually drawn. It is pretty cute.

I'm with Mona, hand-drawn letters from an artistic person with an eye for cute pigs but in need of a dictionary.

Sticky Note in the Wind
When I was young, I destructed a pig.
It had my money in it.

Oh, no! Not the pig!

I thought we had worked this all through with the conclusion of "Charlotte's Web" yet here it comes again.

Still, all anti-piggery intentions aside, "Destruct the Pig" sounds like the name of a Ska band from the 1990's, doesn't it? And this would make a great t-shirt design.

Muse on the Loose
Despite everything else, Charlie the Unicorn did have a soft spot for pigs. His piggie was the one thing that kept him sane. When his pink and purple buddies found out, well—poor pig.

My dear Chrome Toaster, I would never mock you. I have missed your posts, and those of a few other MIA Foundhounds such as our beloved Jonathan.

My feelings are sincere. *sniff* *sniff.*

The terrorist pig is issuing a warning. He will infect the world with swine flu if we don't cooperate. Give Porky what he wants! Think of the children!

I agree that the words are stencil style but not perfect enough to have been done with stencil. I used the same format to draw and then embroider THE DOORS on a pair of cutoffs back in the day.

Having now considered this threat to the swine in the note,I come to the conclusion that the cute little thing is in no danger. "Destruct" is actually not an English word. This must be a code word for something more sinister. I now have more to consider.

And just curious but where did you get the information destruct isn't an english word? As it is both in The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language and Webster's Dictionary.
+ June 02, 2009 08:18 PM +
sick in tired
UChick is right. Destruct is most certainly an English word...although it is a noun, and not a verb. But these days, if you can "access" things surely you can "destruct" them? Access wasn't a verb until the invention of Microsoft Windows.

BTW, Basil, what is it with "more un-flattering" over there? Don't you mean "less flattering"?

See, you're not the only grammar nazi on the block.

right back @ mike in rotch.. well, what kind of person are YOU?

I'm an ageless, timeless artifact, here to waste time and a few brain cells (after all, studies show that occasional, gentle pruning of those cells whose usefulness has come and gone is a good thing).

Please guide us, oh wise one, on the proper use of Found Magazine and its comment section, that we may better serve you.

Is this a middle aged house wife comment section, or college student burn out section...

there are many possibilities.

perhaps future/past art school attenders?

It seems that if "construct" is a verb, "destruct" should be one too!
