I Put Up With You... January 20, 2007 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Everyone knows that you can't kill a foppish vampire with a sword. Godspeed, dandy!
This is scary
Please tell me that you are also find it amazing that kids have such frightening drawings.
Any guy that can take a sword to the head is truly "super"
Looks like his hands have already been lopped off. I wonder the approximate age of the artist. This is disturbing.
This kid will grow up to be a republican congressman.
This is AWFUL!! Kids are crazy today.
Well, I think it's funny. That is, except for the gay comment, like it is supposed to be a bad thing.
I do not believe this to be a waste of paper though. At least the kid drew it on paper instead of doing it in real life.
I mean, seriously. Do every single one of you mean to tell me you've never had a thought like that?
haha is this supposed to be about you?
I'm so glad you are concerned about the environment, much as I am, but I am concerned that as a teacher the HATRED in this drawing does not concern you...Maybe you need to go be a greeter at Wal-Mart instead of educating youth!!!
This is just flat out mean. It scares me a ton. But so do the generalizations you've all made about youth, "kids these days." We are/society is quick to accuse.
I'm actually wondering if the kid is livid about the Twilight movie that just came out. Maybe his little girlfriend just told him the lead vampire was cuter than he is.
Suicide among gay and lesbian teens is twice the national average for their age group in general. Over half of those suicides are due to bullying. It starts young and the message is almost always negative, like this one.
I imagine suicide among gay vampires is probably pretty low
except in Italy where garlic is so readily available. Swords to heads to don't kill gay vampires, garlic does! Lighten up folks.
... and his partner, "Mega-Dyke", dressed in bib overalls with a flannel cape.
I'm surprised the teacher had no comment about the violence depicted. This picture has nothing to do with vampire. It's a drawing of knife-ing or killing the 'super gay' guy. Lighten up? How about... figure it out. This is a kid with some serious predjudices combined with violent intent. If I were the teacher, I'd report it to the school counseler and the parents. I can't understand the finder's passive, detached response.
And no, I've never had any thoughts 'like that'. Psychologically normal people would not.
