I'm Sorry, Saige
FOUND by Lance Sulton in Lavalette, New Jersey
I was buying some alcoholic beverages and the cashier handed me this dollar bill. The writing caught my eye immediately, and it just about broke my heart. Was the argument over money? Did Saige spend the dollar without seeing the note?
Bob
Maybe Mom sent the note out to find Saige...

Im with Bob on this one. I think theres a PostSecret about someone who put a note on a bill and sent it out into the world hoping it would find the right person. Probably not the same person, but it could be the same idea. Its sort of heartbreaking

I wish my mom felt that way about me... I didn't even do anything wrong, except grow up.

That kinda looks like my Mom's handwriting, but I don't have a sister named Saige.

I hope she sees this note one day and makes up with her Mom.

wow :( for some reason this seems like one of the saddest items on here. sounds like mom & saige had a falling out and mom doesn't know how to reach him/her so she sent out a note on a dollar bill, knowing that her kid will probably never see it, but hoping anyway

This is both sweet and sad. Mom, I hope you find Saige.

I feel like I have had this dollar or another with the same thing written on it in my wallet at some point. Wierd.

What is on the other side?

Pretty sure that on the other side, there's a funny looking green dude with droopy eyes and a funky hair. Oh, and a high-necked frilly pirate shirt.

Heather in Missouri, what you wrote was, to me, far more heartbreaking than the note on the dollar.

My name is Saige. My step mom went crazy and left me and my dad five years ago, exactly nine months before the date on the dollar.
She never told me goodbye. I haven't seen her. I don't even know where she is. I loved her no differently, if not more, than I would have loved my actual mom, if she had been in my life.
As much as I want to believe that she wrote the note on this dollar, I don't think she did. I think my dad did, hoping that one day I'd find it. I can't be sure though.
In hopes that it is from you, Mom, I love you.
And I'm sorry too.
To whoever's reading this... believe it, don't believe it, I don't care. My name is Saige and this is my story.

Saige, have you submitted the text of the above post to Found Magazine's "Hey! That's ME!" section? If not, you should. (and I believe you.)

I would also believe that Ben in NJ may have had this very dollar in his wallet at some point. That's just the way it works around here, lemme tellya. (and it was Found in NJ.. makes perfect sense to me.)

If the note on the dollar is to you, Saige, I would bet that your stepmom DID write it. That handwriting is just tooo girly to be your Dad's. (I know, I know: a hundred people will disagree with that statement, saying you just can't tell, but really- have you ever seen a MAN make his Ms that way?)
