My Birthday
FOUND by Shane in Welborn Cafeteria, Boone, NC
I found this napkin eating lunch one day about a month before Appalachian State University let out for winter break. I needed a napkin and this was under the one I picked up.
Mario in Bed
A lunch-eating napkin would be impressive regardless on what was written on it. Nice find.

Aww, I kinda wish this had been a couple days ago for Miss Moo's bday. but we had cupcakes.

I love that cake.

Very sad note. I imagine it's written to someone controlling in the birthday-celebrator's life, and then not delivered. But good affirmations.

Happy Birthday Bobby!! -- I wouldn't dream of stopping you.

(be sure to at least have a bite of cake, in honour of your friends at found (or is that 'fiends at found'?)

Sure. You can have your cake, but can you eat it too?
+ August 26, 2009 05:18 AM +
Chief in back to the wall
Is this intended to be a subliminal message? The entire “You can not stop me.” is creepy, the flames on the candles resemble scalpels. Hannibal Lecter comes out of the closet.

I am laughing at myself this morning.....I orginally read it "You cannot slap me". Like birthday spankings....hmmmm....

I was a bit concerned at first, since the cake and plate look like they are sliding off the napkin.

Two days ago was my daughter's 21st birthday! Like Miss Moo!
+ August 26, 2009 10:02 AM +
Oh, I can stop you. Yes, I can.
What's amazing? the Bday? the day itself? the fact that s/he actually survived until the birthday? the fact that s/he can have cake?

Stick some balloons and circus animals on the side panels of that cake (between the vertical lines of frosting) and it looks like the bday cake I saw in a book when I was 6 and really, really wanted for my 7th bday.

...come to think of it, it seems that I'm always meeting people whose birthdays are on August 24th, 25th and 26th.. i think maybe Thanksgiving weekend is secretly the most romantic weekend of the year.

It looks more like a pimp-daddy's hat than a cake, although it would be difficult to put candles/scalpels in a hat...

Camelia brings it all together, I like that! HB to everyone who was conceived on Thanksgiving weekend! And HB are my daughter's initials. Any more coincidences, anyone? Today is Jeanie Weinberger's birthday too.

(Miss Moo was actually conceived the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, rather than on the Thanksgiving weekend. Not that you needed to know. And in reply to Camelia's question as to who the heck is Miss Moo.. well, she's my lovely daughter, and I'm just another rabid Found Hound. I'm laughing now because I googled the name-- I'd never done that before-- and apparently there are kabillions of Miss Moos out there.)

Thanks Found Pals!
And thanks Terrie-Is-So, for the "Be-earlied Birthdays!!"

And @ Mario -- a lunch-eating napkin would seem surprising. (stay away from my breakfast, tho')

Celebrating my birthday in in my own way
My first thought when I read this was, this is exactly how I felt when I celebrated my first birthday. I was raised as a Jehovahs Witness, and didn't celebrate my birthday until I left as an adult. My first birthday was 4 years ago and I had exactly this kind of defiant attitude!
