We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Oooh, I'm quite interesting and filthy, too!
it seems that sgt pepper wears a snorkel, has a guitar as a penis and three legs (only one with flesh). scary guy
I'm not sure why, but this picture disturbs me deeply.Like something a serial killer put together
Ladies and gentlemen, the world's first quadruple-exposure!
I like this, it was done in the photo lab of the journalism department, without the aid of Photoshop. Accident? Maybe, but I don't think so. I think it's an exercise in double-exposure that got out of hand.
There's a very 70's feel to this...at least my personal 70's.
e used to do a lot of that back then but, ultimately, had to give it up when it began to adversely effect his sense of balance and also made him somewhat transpar
Looks like an album cover for Beck...
I know someone mentioned a snorkel, but I still see that as duct tape covering the person's mouth and a rope running alongside their head. That combined with the sharp sideways angle of the eyes, the swollen or droopy appearance of the "far" eye, and the fact that I can't make out where the arms are leading me to have the impression that they're bound behind the person, really makes me want to call the FBI and have them check it out, like, RIGHT NOW, 4:30 A.M.
There's too much going on in that picture for me to see any of it clearly; all I see for sure is the "duct tape" and the eye, begging for help. Ahhh!
I'm sure there's a marvelous story in this quadruple exposure (do digital-era-only photographers even know what that means??), but I haven't had my morning dose of LSD yet, so I can't even begin to unravel it. Maybe later.
Yes, well, I have been transparency at times. It can be disconcerting, but you get used to it after awhile.
College Bball game?
Must have been RISD vs Mass College of Pharmacy
This is an ugly picture. Those eyes...! I can't get them out of my mind.
If this was done on purpose it's brilliant.
@Hiplainsdrifter- what do you suppose the Mass College of Pharmacy would do for their halftime show? I bet it would be awesome.
This was the proposed album cover for Zac and Taylor Hanson when they toyed with the idea of breaking free and doing stoner riff rock.
The only thing I ever found under the bleachers was the pleasure of heavy petting, and the wonders of marijuana use.
I do think this was done on purpose, because if it was an accidental double/triple/quad exposure, why would the edges of the film appear on the photo.
c-c-c-c-CREEPY! Glad I didn't check Found before bedtime last night.
But I DO love that teeny little monkey skull looking glitch just to the left of the flannel-clad voodoo freak.
Somehow evocative of

That Find.
This picture hurts my brain. Maybe Librarian can share her morning LSD with me so it can all become clear.
when i first looked at this i thought the kid was missing his bottom jaw....spine crawling..and then it got worse with the duct tape and rope talk from @shivering *thanksomuch*
i don't think this is on purpose, i have pictures just like this that got stuck together from improper care in a humidity ruled world....if it is on purpose, please do call the fbi....creepy
@Highplanes
That would be quite a game!!
Actually my mom graduated from RISD in the late 50's. I think is was quite different then.
@ Cotton ... I was guessing that this was from the end of the roll of film and our interpid photog just kept clicking away. Then you could print it as a contact sheet. Image we're looking at isn't a negative. hmmm.
@ mlm ... no.
(but I will share an earworm with you: "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone .... gonna be a bright, bright, sunshine-y day.")
OMGSH! This freaks me out so much! I don't even want to look at it again.
holy crap! i did not need to see that! It looks like some sort of crazy double exposure alright but one of those photos really does seem to be someone in some sort of hostage situation... eeekk
Ever since Chris walked into the voodoo shop, he started to fade away. He was still visible, but he was a bit transparent in the head area. He rather liked being transparent because he could freak people out by pretending to be a ghost. He would go and sit in front of freaky posters so he blended in with them, then jump out and scare people. One person had a camera and took a picture. It came out pretty well—it looked creepy.
@Librarian--Is that how it's going to be? OK for you! See if I share any of MY angel dust the next time you get the urge to fly! ;)
This photo really reminds me of when I was in an experimental photo class in high school my friend and I did a series of intentionally disturbing pictures, one of which involved me sitting tied to a chair wearing a bikini with a pillow case over my head, another of which involved me wearing a child's school uniform and holding a teddy bear while my face was covered in fake blood (I was a tiny, tiny high schooler. People frequently mistook me for being in 6th grade).
Then we scratched up the negatives by sliding them around the classroom floor under our shoes until they became weird looking, then we printed them with high contrast filters. During the class critique, our teacher said "Girls, what is WRONG with you?" then gave us an A.
If someone was to find those pictures now, they would be very freaked out, because they were genuinely disturbing. And they were highly evocative of the fact that I was incredibly screwed up in high school.
This is so spooky!
In the upper right hand corner there's a huge number "4" with the word "skate" under it, which I find ironic, since I think "skate" is sometimes written as "sk8". And 4+4=8. Math irony.
Anyway.. this reminds me of photos we used to make in high school, playing around in the dark room. We had photography classes in those days. OH! the hours spent under safe lights with our hands in the chemicals, breathing fumes and watching images appear magically on paper submerged in the liquid. Hanging the prints to dry on a laundry line in the dark. Happy times.
Love this find. Now I might have to eliminate one of my favorites so I can add this one. I wish the found guys would increase the limit on our favorite finds.
@mlm ... oh, wait! You have angel dust? Hmmm. Maybe we can work out something.
I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight. This is uber-creepy.
This is...
Creepy. Lol. I know, original. =p
But yeah. like... It's really cool, but weird. Idk. Reminds me of a Nirvana album cover or something.
Is it just me, or does the translucent person look more like a girl...?
This photo is amazing in the way that it can be interpretted so many ways, but once you see it as disappearing-ducttaped-ropebound hostage its hard not to think of it as disturbing.
None the less, very brilliant.
Hey Clover, you've left your prints in the fixer for the entire period. Other people have to use these chem trays, too, you know!
I miss the high school dark room so much. We had so much fun, so much unnecessary drama.
if you look closely you can see the guitar players head in the middle of the picture.
It's multiple exposures, but could also be some manipulation in the darkroom. Must be an art school kid.
It could also be "fun with Photoshop" or some scrapbooking software that lets you play with layers and transparency.
Surprisingly, only 4 Creepies, making this Find (as of this post) what? 8.5% creepy. Frankly, I'm surprised.
I do agree this photo is a bit creepy, BUT I also believe that it was done on purpose. Double or triple exposure....I was surprised people actually comments about exposures...digital is taking over the world...its nice to know some people remember when everything was manual.
That figure at the top looks like Dougal from The Magic Roundabout.
Awww. Dougal's cool! And there IS a striking similarity.
Never having heard of Dougal or the Magic Roundabout, I had to google, (Google Dougal! Google Dougal!) and I must admit I was expecting something entirely different. Thanks, Ian.
