In the Middle Ages, the teeth of a hanged man were believed to have magical powers...don't ask me why or what they were supposed to do. In S. Europe you will still see grandparents with a child/grandchild's first lost tooth in a watch guard, pendant etc. (though of course it is to be hoped they didn't hang the little scrap, first).
Looks like someone lost their lucky charms.

Reminds me of a story from the 70’s. There was this rookie ice-hockey player in the NHL who came over from a small European country. To introduce himself to his new team-mates, he rearranged all the glasses containing the false teeth in the dressing room during the first match and watched the drama enfold after the match.

Once I witnessed a fight between two girls at school. One of them knocked out the other's front teeth, and I had to retrieve the teeth off the concrete breezeway after the fight was broken up.
