We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...

yippie! they chose my find!
as i said, my father was the one that found this, and he just found it at an empty house, in a closet with a bunch of junk--
we never got to meet the photographer of this photo--
i hope i get to meet them someday, whoever they were. if you're out there, speak up! what else did you see while in New York? were you just visiting, or did you live there previously?
When I went to New York my entire family stuck their heads out of the car to look at the towers and I was so lazy. I did it for about 2 seconds and then imagined a neck spasm. So, I am happy to witness this view from the comfort of my computer.
Spam protection: Spell the word 'palindrome' backwards.
Yeah, about that- it is 1:00 in the morning. No thanks.
Wow. Chipper Lauren seems to be in a cranky mood. Who knew that a pic could be timely.
I kid. Great pic and more than a little sad.
I'm still happy I'm here (for what it's worth).
It looks like the tops are in the clouds.
Ugh, 8 years. It seems like so long ago. And like it was just yesterday.
o one knew what to say; no one still has any idea what to sa
Dog breath toyed with the computer and lost the log in. Anyway, I have no smartass comments to add to this day we remember. I am not too far from where flight 93 went down.
Kudos to the absentee landlords for this one.
hehe, thats funny. even Farmer in The Dell is speechless. he always has something awesomely wierd to say.

Farmer in the Dell, you've nailed it.
I'm having a moment of silence, staring at the point where the tower is being clutched by cloud...cradling it, pulling it upwards to the sky into the great unknowable.
Where's Pastor Z when you need him?
Farmer nailed it.
On another note: I was reminded of the film Man on Wire. Anyone watch that?
....and we get to look at one find today?
True 'nuf...8 years ago, but seems like yesterday.
Nice words, Robert Keim in upstate New York.
I was on business staying 4 blocks away from the Pentagon that day and night. Got the last Amtrak ticket home - and went through NYC where I could see and smell the smoke - got off in Boston and rented a car to Maine. When I got home, and opened my suitcase, all my clothes smelled like I had been sitting by a campfire where they might've been tossing in tar paper.
Thanks for sharing this picture, goddess, and thanks for picking it today, FOUND.
The poor people at their desks. So sad. The poor people who felt jumping was the better option.
Say a prayer for them.
Such a terrible thing especially for the families. Hug your loved ones every chance you get because you never know what could happen to them.
Thanks for scanning it before you came across it.

my heart still hearts when I look at this picture
That's an amazing picture. :D
How very appropriate. Thank you.
Kisha, thanks for sharing the pic. As an aside, it's kinda funny that you used the phrase "all these years".
a decade(plus) is a long time for me! i'm not a senior citizen yet.

One of my favorite Finds ever.
A very good picture for a start and then of course the history with the date-
a very approptiate FIND.
On my one and only trip to NYC, I went up to the Windows on the World for breakfast. It was glorious. I panicked because the elevator ride was about 5 minutes long. I wish I taken more pictures, but I was young and stupid and just wanted to shop.
Amazing photo, and interesting story. The tragedy seems like forever ago, but it's only 8 years.
