1-800-Can't-Spell
FOUND by Laura in Blacksburg, Virginia
I was checking the mailbox today and found this on the ground. Apparently, someone before me found it just as amusing as I did. Virginia Tech graduation was two weeks ago and I really hope that this guy wasn't one of my fellow graduates.
Not in Blacksburg anymore
I used to teach some Hokies and would not be surprised if it were from one of them, but it seems more like a resident of the area posted this, hoping to make some extra cash.

Could have been written by a freshman who needed to come back for three more years of higher education. Or does the "tech" part of Virginia Tech mean that they don't emphasize those 'soft' humanities skills such as spelling?

cory's ex friend in not at VT
I used to be friends with someone who graduated with a Master's degree from VT. He had excellent spelling skills. I miss him so much.

LOL. How I have wanted to do this with so many signs/posters...just whip out the Sharpie and correct away!

Would have have loved to see a big "F" circled a couple of times on the upper right hand corner.

Miss Scarlet in in the Study with a Revolver
It would totally not surprise me that this was written by a college student/graduate. I have spent immeasurable time correcting the grammar and spelling mistakes of college graduates.

Jeez...at least the words are spelled correctly.

Pavel in crisis
I like that he has not let his handicaps prevent him from participating in free enterprise. If he is this bad at punctuation, he probably has eligible handwriting, so he typed the note.

Hey, maybe with all his collecting endeavors, he’ll find the lost cat from this morning!

Definitely management material.

it aggravates me that some people don't learn to spell. But the corrections irk me even more, and finally the "corrections" say something far more negative about the person who made them than they do about the person who made the mistakes. I didn't find this amusing in the least.

Clover in a mood
I think the corrections were mean. This person was offering to work, which is more than some of my "A" students are willing to do! They'd rather cheat and whine for that grade than do the work required to learn. Very irritating.

yes pavel, i agree w/ your sentiment (or "sediment") thankfully their handwriting is "eligible", as opposed to, you know, illegible. thanks man.

i hope the person who took the time to rant out their little corrections on this note was able, at some point in life, to unclench their asshole and focus on something that's actually fun or meaningful.

easy to mock the undereducated when mommy and daddy put you through school, huh?

As someone who lives in Blacksburg, my guess is that someone in the community made the sign, and some college student corrected it. Because VT students are a**holes.

Tony James in Sigue Sigue Sputnik: Affordable Firepower
I like how the editor, while writing "first grade writing skills" screwed it up, and had to scribble a correction in over whatever it was.
