I Don't Go Out with CD-Roms

I found this on the buffet in my mom's house and asked her where it came from. She said it must have been something she picked up out of her front yard where she often finds such "treasures" from the many children who attend the nearby schools. My first thoughts were how completely embarrassed I'd be if any note I'd ever passed in school, like this one, was found. And then I had to ask myself, I wonder where all those old notes ended up?

You've got to applaud the attempt at correctly punctuating "you're". B+ good effort, could do better next time.
good grief. Here we go ... I'm going to expose myself for the old person I seem to be becoming. First the other find which is described as an "old style" photo print. It's not a bloody daguerreotype. And now this. Can some hip person explain to me the use of CD-Rom in this context?
Well, for some reason when I try to log in, the screen flickers, but I get the "sign in" screen again. So here I am and you'll have to take it on trust it's really me!
I don't go out with CDRoms either...but a good hard drive is hard to find!
Maybe CDRom is a new slang term for geek/dork/dweeb?

I don't get the single line of Spanish.
"Como te digo" what does this mean? I know what bablefish says but it's obviously not a complete thought in itself.
Maybe a 'CD-ROM' is a computer nerd??
I love that there's a bit of Spanish there... although a bit random.
"Como te digo" means "Like I tell you"... so kind of like, "Like I've told you, I don't go out with CD-Roms."
I like to think that CD-Roms is a code word/name that these two friends share. A code name that a good friend of mine and I are sharing lately is "Newton".
Is it OK for me to whore myself out and say it's my birthday today? :D
I laughed at this, pretty confusing how some of it is written in spanish...

This could be stretching it a little, but the Urban Dictionary (urbandictionary.com) says that "CD" is an abbreviation for "cross dresser" and so I'm wondering whether that would be meaningful in the context of this note.
I personally no longer go out with floppies.
Librarian, I, too, went to Urban Dictionary for some help, but I looked up "CD-rom". The definition is a hoot: The act of digging up a corpse and adding barney stickers to it.

Well, Librarian, i wouldnt go out with someone who dug up corpses, either (unless it was his job. like a forensic scientist)

@Librarian, yup, I had trouble fitting it in, too, but it was just such a bizarre sentence I had to share it.
I tend to agree with cd-roms being their personal slang for the computer crowd/geeks/nerds.
When me and my buds go out diggin' up coffins and stuff - we usually put Spongebob stickers on 'em.

I know a guy from India named Rom. He's kind of seedy, too.
I wonder how many people are privy to this note, because the handwriting is definitely two people, but the word "no" is circled in red. And if a CD-Rom is a computer nerd, i feel bad for people who don't go out with them. If I remember correctly, Louis from Revenge of the Nerds was quite the lover, because "Jocks only think about sports, Nerds only think about sex." Don't knock it til you've tried it!
Also, in response to the finder's question of where all high school notes end up: In a top secret file cabinet in the janitor's office. He is, after all, "the eyes and ears of this institution." (Breakfast Club, anyone?) I'm on an 80s movie kick today, it seems....
"Como te digo" means more "Like I'm telling you" rather than past tense "told"...

When I was in JR High, my friends and i had little code names for people we liked or especially didn't like so we could talk about them in public without anyone knowing. I remember one of them was Aqua Santa. I'll bet CD-Roms is the same thing.
I keep old notes like that in a file in between my bank statements and college paperwork. Easy access that way. :)
(Clapping 3 times for Bri) I had a code name for my ex sister-in-law. We called her "MW", short for "monkey wrench", because she totally messed up any plans we had made for trips or evenings out....I think she did it on purpose.

I have been reminded of a code word we used for a friend's wife. We called her "Squicken Churl" because she looked like half chicken, half squirrel.

It could be a difference between South American Spanish and Castellano spoken in Spain, but as a native Spanish speaker I can tell you that when we Spanish say "como te digo" it means "like I tell you [on a regular basis]", which can be translated into "like I've told you", as I said above.

baby basil - where I'm from, when we say "special" what we mean is "slow". But I accept the complement in the spirit in which it was given.
Maybe a "CD rom" is what we would have called a "know-it-all" in my day.
This reminds me of an old saying I heard a lot when I was in Middle School ('97-'00 ish) and that was: "Unlike computers, I reject 3 1/2 inch floppies." Which we used as insults about penis sizes.
Since floppy discs are nearly obsolete, and junk drives are in perhaps CD-ROM is the new floppy disc dig?

My best guess though is that the first girl feels bad for the other, BUT was wondering the whole time why she was trying to get with this geek anyway, and so sorta through the CD-rom ref in to try and make her feel better... sorta like "he's not worth it anyway... Like I said."
