Knocking On My Door
FOUND by Darrin Noble
I found this on the steps leading up to my apartment... not just on the sidewalk where the steps start. I'm bothered every time I look at it. It's creepy.

Somebody's knocking should I let him in
Lord it's the devil would you look at him
I've heard about him but I never dreamed
He'd have blue eyes and blue jeans

I find it interesting that even though this seems to be some sort of emergency.... "911" is small, in the corner, and relegated to a little box... as if an afterthough?

This just strikes me as so sad. Sort of like it's not a real emergency, but rather an unintentional statement on human interaction.

This note looks to me like a prop in a game of make-believe-- either with two friends playing 'danger,' or one bored latchkey kid looking for attention. I used to do it all the time :)

If they needed help then why was it on the stairs? This is wierd. if it was an emergancy then they should have called 911

this seems like someone with social disorder of some sort that is cooped up in their house deathly afraid of a knock or ring at their door!

Gah, I hope nobody ever spells out a help note for me.. I thought the 'word' in the corner spelled 'all' until one of the commenters referred to it as 911.

Maybe 911 is the writer's apartment number...

I think what they're trying to say is: "Somebody keeps knocking on the door to my apartment, if you see who it is, call the cops."

But how would they give the note to someone? Not through or under the front door, right? Would they throw it out a window?

Me and my little bro and sis used to play a game at my grandparents house, we played apartment, and we each had a bedroom as out "apartment" and we would leave each other "mail" in the closet.
I am thinking it was a game some kids were playing, passing notes, maybe through the door.

Its interesting that the person is so afraid of the knocker, yet they are willing to put their trust in whichever random person reads the note. Unless the note is from communication between 2 deaf/mute paranoids sitting in the same room... but then how would they know someone was knocking?

I actually got goosebumps when i read this it is kinda creepy. I feel sorry for the kid. If it is b/c he is alone i know how he feels i still get paranoid when someone knocks and im home alone.

Little Richard in side your head
Keep a knockin' but you can't come in
Keep a knockin' but you can't come in
Keep a knockin' but you can't come in
Come back tomorrow night and try it again
You said you love me and you can't come in
You said you love me and you can't come in
You said you love me and you can't come in
Come back tomorrow night and try it again

Em, singing "who can it be now?"
I can't believe nobody's made a "Men at Work" pun.

"Is it the man come to take me away?
Why do they follow me?"

i probably shouldn't be laughing at this because i'm always afraid of people knocking on my door [due to my friends showing up at all hours of the night without calling].

but it kinda sounds like an older person.they get paranoid too.

Maybe they mean to stop knocking on the door because it is driving them nuts, and they want to be left along. That's sad.

OR someone is playing pranks on them by knocking at all hours, and they want to know who it is...
