We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Is that a halter top she's wearing?
Her birthday party, yesterdays to-do list... you've got yourself one hell of a weekend!
I thought Buca de Peppo was only here! Is everything a chain nowadays?
I absolutely love this invite!
Is Robin's comic page sibling Cathy invited? I'll bet not since all she does is kvetch about calories.
Buca di Beppo is most definitely in California, at Citywalk (in Universal City/Hollywood). Mmmm, so good. I wish Robin would invite me!
It kind of reminds me of how I invited my friends to my 21st birthday party back in November...
welllll...happy b'day Robin...BITCH!!! Hopefully she got some manners as a gift.
No sense waisting money on quality invitations when there are rounds of Jello shots to buy!!!
That's funny- I saw Buca Di Beppo before I scrolled down, and thought it was yet another Seattle Find! I didn't know there were others, either.
Dave, who says this isn't a quality invitation?? I think it's Great.
Say YAY to handmade!
My friend's family got horribly sick after eating at the bucca in santa clarita... An employee with some "plumbing" problems didn't wash up before he tossed the salad. Won't be eating there again. Love the Universal one, though, bird.
I like this find. Wouldn't mind that it wasn't "real" if I were friends with Robin. The last line's great.
Awww c'mon, Chillin'. Chill... Robin isn't the one calling people bitch.
==
Who? Robin
What? HER birthday
.
.
Why? Cuz WE said so, bitch.
==
It's her callous, uncaring friends.
Robin's just down there looking all sweet and innocent, happy that it's her B-day. Don't blame the B-day girl for the message.
Does anyone know what The Boogey is?
Handwritten invitations are a good thing.
Oh that party was such a bust. Robin got all wasted and uppity (you know she can be like that) and got in my face about Jason, saying I skanked him away, blah, blah, blah, then she booted the jello shots on my new kicks. Bitch.
It's a world gone mad. "Bad" means good, "wicked" means very good, "evil" means terrific. And you call people "bitch" to invite them to a party.
I can just see these teenagers writing their own marriage vows in a few years time, like something out of that movie "Serial."
Him: "Thank you for pushing my buttons. For I am an asshole. And being an asshole is neither good, nor bad, it just is."
Her: "Youness, meness, usness, weness. Yourness, myness, ourness--happiness."
Wedding guest, to wife: "Sickness!"
I know it's her hands, but it looks like one of those cute hats with the poof balls hanging off it. This is cuuuute.
Buca di Beppo means Joe's garage, maybe that why your friends got sick after eating there. Cuz I said so Bitch.
Oh and this made me think of this find http://foundmagazine.com/find/1314.
I like the little Chibi Robin at the bottom. So cute!
I like that it appears to be a little kid's party invite until you get to the b-bomb. Unless kids these days really are way more advanced than I think they are. Then that would just be totally disturbing, bitch.
the boogey is this sketchy club. this invite is like a typical invitation that south bay girls give for birthdays.
I love birthdays and I love birthday parties.
I especially love my birthday (and the 12 Days of Birthday Celebration I manage to accomplish) the most. But birthday cake is for wusses.
I'm there for you, Robin!
We have Bucca in Dallas, too. And if it's found at a college, they don't have money to spend on nice invites; they're saving up for their big night out! Actually, I'm impressed they didn't just do an e-vite, and extra points for the little drawing at the bottom. I wonder how many of these they made? Class time well spent, I say!
BTW - children's games make FFT spam questions.
@sick in tired--I remember that movie Serial...haven't thought of it in a long time. We snuck in to see it (several times) because it was rated R. Today it would probably be downgraded to PG13. I'm gonna see if I can find it somewhere to watch it again. Wonder if it's as good as my young self remembers it?
Ah. The good ole days. My friends and I used to call each other bitch and hooker all the time.
Hey BITCH! You gonna talk to me like that and expect me to show up at your crappy ass birthday party.......then buy some real invitations! Cheap ass whore!
I love Buca's. The one here is very nice.
I absolutely love the little drawing at the bottom-very adorable!
Hey, it's my birthday today, and I was just wondering where I should go out for dinner....hmmm...
I just noticed that the little drawing is saying, "It's my b-pty!" Is that birth party or bitch party? Totally cute, though. I think I'd go to the pty if I got this invite.
Hey, whoah! There wasn't a spam-catcher question on my last post. What the hey is going on around here? (Also, I keep waiting for Jason to use the ones that I suggested for new questions, but he never uses them. Sad.)
Writer, I guess you've been rejected again. Don't feel alone, he doesn't use my suggestions either.
The 5 Ws on this invitation make me happy. And I also thought of Cathy.
From Wikipedia, on Buca: "The first restaurant was opened in the basement level of a Minneapolis, Minnesota, apartment building in 1993."
It roughly translates to Joe's Basement, given its original location.
bucca in philly too!
there's a bucca di beppo in jersey, too. i've never been there, though.
We have a Buca di Beppo in Colorado Springs, too.
This is a conspiracy!
I think Robin should get some sort of kickback from Buca Di Beppo for this "free advertising"!! (of course with Em in rainy CA's comment, it's not a 100% positive endorsement, but still.)
What say, Buca? Can Robin host her next bday party there gratis?
And don't you just LOVE saying buca di beppo?
Oh, and Writer, rejected, usually once you've posted, you're "cookied in", so you don't need to answer another spam question unless you close out of Found, and come back in a new browser window.
(That's my theory, and I'm stickin' to it.)
Am I the only one thinking this Robin lass is marriage material? She looks like a honey.
I'm gonna be hanging out at the Boogey on the off-chance.... not sure I'll get along with here friends though, sound a bit fresh no?
fyi...
buca in italian means 'hole' and bucca di beppo means 'the basement of beppo'...or the american known 'joe.'
@ writer....I am almost positive the little speech bubble says "b'day" not b'pty...either work though, I am wondering if her Mum only gave her 5 invites because she only wanted to pay for that many people and she hand wrote a bunch more and come friday her Mum is in for a rude shock
Yes, it does indeed say B-pty. I guess people call people bitch just for the shock humor of it all. Or to get attention.
And wow, that does resemble to Vathy comic strip character-would you look at the smirk on this one's face, though ? Very funny.
"that does resemble to Vathy comic strip character"
sorry, that is supposed to be ...that does resemble THE CATHY comic strip....
I had never even heard of this Buca place until today...turns out we have three of them. I should get out more.
Thanks for reminding me today is my mom's birthday.
theres a buca in indianapolis its hella expensive but also really good.
As far as I know we don't have Bucca Di Beppo in North Carolina. This is the first I've heard of it.
LOL, Pepper.. before I viewed the link you gave, I thought for sure it was going to be
http://foundmagazine.com/find/576
this one. They're both exceptional party invites.
Bucca di Beppo is like an Olive garden but "a little more authentic"
It's up there with Maggiano's, yes, they are All chains :-(
Buca de Beppo sucks balls. We have one here in Denver and I found a large nasty clump of hair in my "family style" order of asparagus. In my family, our food comes hair-free.
Actually a friend of mine made a invitation quite like this last year. She was 17.
jennie, did your family piss off the wait staff, or what?
The invitation is supposed to funny and it is...I would definitely go to the party. Besides, I AM a bitch, so I'd fit right in.
I don't know why, but my friends and I have always called each other vulgar and unflattering names as terms as endearment for as long as I can remember. I have no idea why.
I sure as heck I'd gone to the 'party' for 'bitches' instead of the the party for people who don't know when to say 'NO'...I've had enough, BITCH!
i thought the "BOOGIE" closed down a while back because someone was shot. buca isn't that bad. some people just have bad experiences sometimes.
yeah last i heard the boogie was closed because it lost its liquor licence selling alcohol to minors...
She obviously needs friends..if she wants people to come so badly.
I visited a Buca in Omaha, Nebraska... Sorry to the folks thinking it was local. :(
I'm here in upstate ny and i thought bucca di beppo was only around here...
if it's a chain then the robin i know prolly didn't lose her bday invites...
We have Buca in Kentucky as well. I'm so hungry... maybe i'll go to fazoli's
I've been there, and they've never tossed my salad (although I've tossed a few).
Thank you for this, James. I love you madly. Wish you'd come on over to Bucca di beppo tonight...and the boogey! xoxoxo
Heh, wish I could join you all. Just be sure to box up some spaghetti for me!
You know what's funny about the B-day Find James chose to celebrate our Gal Nightingale? The invitation is for Robin's b-day. Robin. Another Bird. Great selection, James!! You guys are so awesome!
