anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
It reminds me of the streets of Guatemala. I stayed in a town called Quetzaltenango for 5 weeks this past summer and this looks like one of the streets I walked every day.
I traveled to Dublin Ireland when I was 13 and there was a "war" (for lack of better word) going on between the catholic and prodistants I believe. Anyhow there were tanks driving up and down the streets, this picture very much reminds me of that!!!
i love it.
Thats not a tank. Its a BTR-60 Armored Personnel Carrier. Its Russian made, but the picture could be from anywhere as the Russians distributed this vehicle all over the world. Its one of the most common APCs in the world.
I agree as soon as I saw the pic, it looks like some place in the western part of Guatemala, and by the clothing it looks from the late 70's or early 80's. The tank in the street would be because of the civil war that lasted 30+yrs
I forgot to add, that it could've belonged to an inmigrant to remember his countr/village from. Quetzaltenango looks so different now I wouldn't be able to tell where it exactly this picture is from, but I'm positive it¡s Guatemala
It's in great condition.
Melissa,
Belfast in Ireland was the first thing that jumped to my mind. I visited it for the first time a few days before the Easter agreement and there were still tanks around.
It looks like Chile. There was a coup in Chile after all which would explain the tanks.
