BAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
hhhmmmm....this note was written a year ago on my birthday. coincidence?
I remember when i had to draw lines first in order to write straight.
Birthday Girl, Happy Birthday!
This just makes me think immediately about the movie called "The Full Monty," one of my favorite movies of all time!
that scoreboard is really specific.
I'm just sad that Monty didn't take the drawing with him, hopefully the kid didn't know that.
Birthday Girl! Your birthday is the same as my brother's! Have a good one.
I like this note....it's sweet and innocent. How rare.
maybe we could all practice writing thank you letters today. it might make the world a nicer place.
spam question: spell "palindrome" backwards? yikes! where did THAT come from::-)) crap, i even screwed it up the first time, hoping the second time is more *ahem* successful.
Happy Birthday,
and, Sarasara, any objections to my naming a character in a short story after you? You don't have to do anything, just lie in a bathtub and be dead. Up for it?
the cursive is the best - very few kids know how to write it anymore. i especially love the inclusion of monty's name in the first line, too, and the inherent enthusiasm. this kid came off the bench, played point for a few minutes, but always cheered the loudest. go bulls, go team! rah rah.
Monty's a helluva guy, I guess. But it was pretty rude to leave the thank-you note behind. Monty's a jerk, I guess.
Awwww. I just think this is so cute ! And Happy Birthday, Birthday Girl !I like how the kid drew lines to make sure the note was neatly straight. Monty should have kept this sweet sentiment .
LOL ! I got the spam protection math wrong the first time- I knew I would.
Wow-the details-in the bottom right corner-- everyone puts their hands together in the circle and shouts 'Go team'
If the Bulls are such a great team, why are they only 3 points ahead of the visitors? I think Monty must have put in the scrubs to keep the point spread in his favor.
Awww! ( Go Heels! )
28 times 15, ohmygod I gotta find my calculator.
Are you sure that it was not Monty who posted this find?
anon: yes, the details. the hand circle is my favorite part. i bet the kid even drew each hand with a specific teammate in mind.
go team!
I was thinking Monty Hall, at first. Maybe Monty the coach got too drunk, that's why he forgot the thank you note. The kid should have signed the note.
So sweet! Reminds me of a picture my son once drew in Gr.6 of his Hockey Team and the other Team on the outdoor rink.
Kids back then really knew how to use detail, more then now. Not all kids, but most.
This is a 'keeper'. I'm going to hang it on my fridge!!
HMMMMM????
Cursive. What a waste of time. All those school days lost learning something you will never use in real life except to sign your name. Or write wedding invitations. Fuckin' Monty....
Cute! You can tell this was written by a good kid.
Maybe Monty "forgot" the letter because it was this kid's poor guardsmanship that allowed the other team to gain on them. Maybe if it hadn't been for this kid, they would have won by more.
Now, of course, Monty feels bad. He realizes that it's not so much about winning or losing: It's the enthusiasm and dedication you bring to the game. And shucks if this kid isn't the embodiment of spirit and hope. We could all stand to learn from this kid!
Monty will pitch the script to Disney as soon as he gets it finished:-P
We the awkward geeks sitting at the front of the class, taped glasses, and flood pants, thank you Monty. Thank you Thank you Thank you for choosing us to be on your team. We are sooo unworthy.
AND we didn't need a calculator to figure out the spam question. WE ROCK!!!
This kid appears to like saying Monty's name.
"Dear Monty,
Thank you for letting me be on such a great team Monty."
Monty... It is a fun name to say. Reminds me of "Uncle Monty" in the movie Withnail & I. He played for a "team" too ;-)
Maybe Monty didn't intentionally leave this sweet note behind. Maybe he had it sitting on top of his gym bag so he wouldn't forget it, only to have it blown off by the air conditioner. Maybe if Monty sees this on Found, it will totally make his day because he's been so bummed about losing it...
So sad, NBA players are going pro earlier and earlier every year...
A cheerleading point guard who likes Monty's name so much he/she wears it out?
(I had to use a calculator to get by the spam protector this morning. "What *is* 28 times 15?")
When my brother was 6 or 7 he came home from school on Thanksgiving with a picture he had drawn. My mother asked him, "What's this a Turkey on a Fence?" He said, "No, that you making my bed."
I bet Monty is a college player that visited an elementary school with at-risk kids to tell them to respect themselves, work hard, don't do drugs, and stay away from gangs. And if they do, they can achieve whatever they want - like go to college - just like Monty.
Also, go Rams (VCU)!!!
who's in a snowstorm?
Everyone keeps assuming that Monty left the note behind... Maybe he never got it. Maybe the very polite point gaurd accidently left it behind and Monty never knew how much his generosity was appreciated. So sad. I hope he drew another one that was just as adorable. Go Bulls!

I don't know nothin bout no snowstorm.
what do you know about birthin' babies?
Lots of ice here, but no snow
dear mona lisa,
thanks for asking about the snowstorm, mona lisa. we're having a snowstorm in connecticut. i like looking at the snowstorm. go bulls.
Dear Lars.
thank you for replying to my query, Lars. I was really worried that some people like you, Lars, would be affected by the weather, Lars. I'm glad you got to post here, anyway, Lars.
Go Raptors.
Dear Lars & Mona Lisa,
Thank you for being so funny, Lars and Mona Lisa. I don't like snowstorms, Lars and Mona Lisa.
Go Team!
Mona, you remind me of a British friend I had about 15 yrs ago who constantly called me by name when he was talking to me...I felt like saying, "Yes, Max, I'm still here!" I'm sure he thought it was being friendly but it was actually really, really irritating.
That said, at the church I attend a lot of people pray that way: "Lord, we thank you, Lord, for your care and protection, Lord, and Lord, we just want to say, Lord..." I sometimes wonder if a) they're not sure who they're talking to, or b) they're not sure He's listening!
Baby Basil, just to clarify, baby basil, that it was the creator of the find, baby basil, that started it all, baby basil. Lars wrote me a note that way, lars did, and so i wrote him back, baby basil. It wasn't me that started it, baby basil.
This is all just insincere poppycock without a drawing of a damn snowstorm....
(Snow-storming here. Will be ice-storming later. And possibly rain-storming if the temperature goes up.)
I totally thought that little hand huddle down at the bottom was a giant *. I was trying to figure out what it was doing there.
hahaha the answer to the math question is 420! coincidence??? you FOUND guys are too funny.
smoking: that's an awful big number to be a coincidence... to be sure, I just typed "420" into the search box, and everything was confirmed. GOOD TIMES!
LOL... it's 4:20 somewhere...

Well, Turbo, it's all still just a bunch of insincere poppycock, but there's the best snowstorm Found can provide. (afaik.)
wow sarasara, I was JUST talking about spelling panindrome backwords.
This reminds me of an old folk song I had to learn in the fourth grade. "There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza, there's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.
Only it would go like this.
"I thank you, dear Monty, dear Monty, I thank you. I thank you, dear Monty, for letting me play. GO TEAM!
aawww....thanks for all the birthday wishes!!
i love you guys!
You guys are totally cracking me up!
Oh Mona, you crack me up. You really made me laugh, Mona. Dear Mona, how funny you are, la mia bella Mona!
One question--did the child who drew/wrote this Find figure Monty knew who he was (the grateful point guard), so he didn't have to sign it? I could see him using the "friendly letter" lesson from English class to write the heading on autopilot, so he repeats "Monty" in the letter...but where's the closing and the signature? Maybe that's why Monty didn't keep the find. Or maybe, as Mrs Gordon so often puts it: "No one likes a suck-up, Brandon!"
It makes me smile that the only part WITHOUT a "guide" line (Dear Monty) is the only one that is not slanted down to the right!!
I always wondered why he didn't sign it.
I really like how this kid punctuates. He put a period after the date. I feel like that makes everything more definite.
It all seems so cute until you realize that the Bulls are a university basketball team.
We better hope the grateful pointguard is good at his position otherwise he's looking at a grim future.
