Shopping list of a brand-lover.

Personally, I like to start my day with pebbles, but boulders are good too.

My sister was like this...in rebellion against my mother's frugal lifestyle born of poverty and a large family, after she married (and later divorced) sis would only buy brand-name products. Not lemonade from lemons, but the popular powdered drink as seen on TV. Not homemade cocoa, but a famous nstant preparation. Her son acquired a lot of behavioural problems which my mother put down to being a spoiled brat (which he was), but the doctor pinpointed as his body's reaction to all the chemical colourants, preservatives, artificial flavourings etc. Apparently the yellow colouring known in Europe as E-102 causes extreme moodswings in young children, and migraines in many adults.

I prefer to know what's in my food and where it comes from.

reading too much in to everything
Gala apples are my favorites!

The chocolate, deodorant, and crumpets aren't given a brand name either. And gala isn't necessarily a brand so much as the type of apple such as granny smith or washington red.

Ease up on the crumpets, waffles, disco-squares and chocolate and she might not need the Clearasil.

(what is 454 divided by 2? It's too early for a math quiz for spam protection ... seriously, that's harder than spelling 'scissors')

Maybe he/she had coupons for those brand name items. What is Muller Vitality? Sounds like dog food.

"Apples" and "Chocolate" should be regular items on everyone's lists! They sure are on mine.

@Crispy.. What are crisps? What are boulders? And what exactly is a crumpet? Is it sort of like a scone? What is Muller Vitality? Jonathan, where are you when we need you?

crisps are potato chips.

What about the Finder's blurb? "shopping list of a brand new lover."

The Finder's brand new lover?
it made me sing (quite loudly, I might add) Dead Or Alive's Brand New Lover (what I really need to do is find my self a brand new lover.. somebody with eyes for ME, who doesn't notice all the others!"

Just don't get me started on Pete Burns' amazing transformations again. (I'd have stayed with the Pirate look. Definitely.)

What are crisps?- potato chips

What are boulders?- a brand of breakfast cereal

And what exactly is a crumpet? - its like a bready pastry breakfast or tea time item, I recommend GFoogle, its quite hard to explain.

Is it sort of like a scone?- Perhaps, not really.

What is Muller Vitality?- its a brand of health food yoghurt.

looking for love in all the wrong places
Hum...CT12..Freudian slip or what....could the addition of the word "new" to the finder's
blurb, "shopping list of a brand-lover" have a bit to do with your own life? You,too, just might be in the market for some Muller's Vitality should you locate this brand "new" lover, lol....cheers

Just me in my house
I bought a package of crumpets once just to see what the British see in them. I didn't like them enough to finish the package though I can't say they were the worst things in the world either. They were sort of like an English muffin except you don't split them in half. The tops looked holey and pock-marked, kind of interesting. But I didn't like the texture, kind of wet and moist on top. Not a rich buttery gooey wet, but more of a soggy wet bread kind of wetness if you know what I mean.

This looks like a list that was made for a husband that doesn't usually do the shopping. I know when I send my husband out to do the shopping, I am as specific as possible or he will come home with all sorts of bizarre stuff.

A crumpet is more squishy than an english muffin, but it kinda looks like half an english muffin. soaks up the butter real good, and its nice with jam on it.

I think crumpets are made of a similar batter to pancakes, but much thicker, and they have lots of little air bubbles in them. You really have to toast them, otherwise they are not so good. Very traditional, a kind of private school boy thing. There's a quote from something about eating hot buttered crumpets off a boys backside. I personally like them with cheddar cheese and marmite. mmmm

Honey Crisp apples are the best. I don't like apples (natch) but I'll scarf these babies down if I find them. They show up occasionally at Kroger here in Virginie.

Honey Crisp apples ARE very good! And I don't like apples much, either.

What's up with all the grocery list finds lately? I mean, I submitted an AWESOME find about 2 months ago, but according to everyone here, it may take years to get it posted.

Crumpets are tasty toasted with butter and jam. Yum!
+ July 21, 2008 12:01 PM +
My two cents
Crumpets is a game played with a rubber playground ball and those giant wiffle ball bats!! Or at least, it is in the Cornell Marching Band... And apparently some other places: http://www.fieldcrumpets.com/
