You have to wonder who was that exactly too? A friend who was in trouble or an actual cop? I'm not a huge fan of the police, they haven't been very nice to me...and I don't do anything wrong.

Here's what I think happened: This person was parked in a bad spot, got a ticket, saw the ticket getting but was unable to do anything, waited until the cop moved on to the next vehicle, and left this hastily scribbled note on the windshield.

I work as a dispatcher/911 call taker for our local Police Service and in the time that I've been there I can honestly say that anyone who says: "I'm not a huge fan of the police, they haven't been very nice to me...and I don't do anything wrong" is either a liar, a criminal or both.

Georgina in at my desk where I should really be writing my dissertation- England
In England you are not allowed to use your phone when driving- USA probably too- and I was parked in a car park chatting when a policeman knocked, gave me a ticket, £50 fine and three points! He said 'not alowed to use it 'in' the car.' Has the world gone mad??

Not saying that makes all police bad! I'm down with the police! but I that has to be overstepping it. Maybe this writer got my boy in blue!

Yes, Cops do suck. And?
My guess is someone wrote this down in the car and held it to the window as they drove past a cop. It's crossed my mind before.

Have you ever had your civil rights violated by the police: I have and I did appreciate it. Not all police are officer friendly. Alot of the them are ex-jarheads or just bad dudes hellbent on revenge.

Have we forgotten that all cops are not bad? Have we forgotten all the cops who have died in 9/11 to save lives, but lost their own? Sure, not ALL cops are friendly. Sure, not ALL cops are THAT great at what they do. Ask yourself this....are you ALWAYS friendly ALL the time when you are at work? Is EVERYONE that you work with GREAT at what they do? I'm not saying it's ok to take your anger out on anyone else, or do bad things because you have power, but think of the job that they do. I'm sure they deal with people EVERY day that give excuse after excuse for speeding, stealing, using drugs, etc....wouldn't you become somewhat hardened from hearing and seeing some of the things they do???

Yeah, anyone who is going to generalize and say that cops suck deserves any hardships that may come their way. Sean S. my brother is one of those ex-jarhead cops and I couldn't admire him more. I think you need to check your morals.

some cops suck.
some cops don't suck.
i don't understand the need for any argument for either extreme.

what has me curious is that i see a transitive verb but no direct object. i don't think the person was able to finish their note. perhaps they had been hastily writing and were suddenly cuffed and dragged away, leaving behind the incomplete message.

Cops don't suck, I think that's the problem. They do torture and abuse people. Maybe if they were less repressed they wouldn't need to beat people, tase them, or sexually extort them to feel a sense of power.

See, now we're getting somewhere. If the writer of the note likes being sucked, s/he shouldn't use it as an insult. In theory. But if the author was about to suggest something specific for the cops to suck, the cuffing and dragging away could have been a misunderstanding. Right.

Hey, was that you, hilary?

too bad....some of my friends and family have been cops. It was probably written by some one that got caught doing what they weren't supposed to be doing and always blames others when they get in trouble.

I must agree with those of you trying to make an argument for "neither extreme." Yes, there are those cops who suck and those who don't... My fiancee is a cop, and a fine one at it. He actually almost got fired because he refused to give b.s. summons' and tickets just to meet quota, but when they don't meet the quota, they are sanctioned and put on probation and could be suspended... and thus find themselves without a job. So eventually, a lot of cops get to a point where they feel "it's either me or them" and choose for themselves instead of the rest... Like most others, they have families and lives, and sometimes have no other way to preserve their own jobs than to hand out crappy, shitty, undeserving tickets. My fiancee is still not one of those cops, for the record: He makes it his purpose in life to find only true offenses, and wants to go into Internal Affairs so he can take out the dirty cops... Hopefully someday most of us won't agree with the "Cops Suck" statement. Hopefully :)

It is so funny. Everyone hates law enforcement till they need them. Then it is " where is a cop when I need them?" Are any of YOU brave enough to do the job? I think not. Your too busy breaking the law or making excuses for yourself. I am sure everyone is going to give me s**t about this posting but I don't care. Who needs approval from criminals anyway. Not me. And by the way... my husband is a former Teufal Hunden(leatherneck/jarhead) State Trooper. All the negative people are not fit to lick his boots. Ha,Ha,Ha.
