Grey Socks Hanging
FOUND by Jennifer Powell in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I got this back with a roll of film I had developed which wasn't on my negatives. There is something very sad and lonely about how the teddy bear stares at those grey socks hanging there in front of that bare wall. It's as if the socks are the first bit of excitement he's seen in a long while.

This is totally how I hang my clothes to dry - hangers balanced delicately on the moulding around doorways and windows. :)

truly amazing.... the noise is deafeningly silent.. and when the bear is looking at the socks... that's static reality. quite the rarity.

what's interesting is how "contemporary" this image is; throw a stone, and you can find something just like this, in any serious art photographer's portfolio.William Eggleston made a career out of shots like this.

when i first saw this picture, i thought i was having dejavu. the room looks exactly like my exboyfriend's room. but instead of the socks, he has a shirt that he calls his "inspiration shirt." he uses it as inspiration cuz he wants to loose weight and fit into it again. lol
