Money Grabbers... December 23, 2005 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
This child looks like he's being eaten by that Christmas tree! I bet he has nightmares about December 25th now!
Stunning.
The boy in this picture reminds me of reccurring nightmares I have.
How loaded was the photographer?
Oh my god. That spot looks like a place in my house...Disturbing and intriguing at the same time. I wish I knew who this belonged to.
I honestly believe this is a ghost that wasn't meant to be in this picture. It's very creepy, especially how long the child's face is. I bet it scared the owner and they dropped it, never to remember the ghost again.
This is what happens when you try to take a picture of the tree without using the flash. I have a pic of my daughter that's very like this one. Of course, she was wearing the lights on her head...and she was smiling, not looking like that scary "Scream" painting.
NJ, you made me laugh, and Emily, when I saw this pic, the first thing that came to my mind was "a ghost"!!!!
mhmm. it is hauntingly beautiful.
That is the creepiest damn picture I have ever seen.
i like how the little boy's hands are held up at his sides... odd
Look like The Grudge kid.
for some reason, I feel like the kid is being pulled into the Christmas tree... or pushed seeing as his hands are up.
the very first thing i saw [before my brain made sense of the picture] was a chinese new year dragon
the mouth was where the dark stripes are on the kid's shirt
weird huh?
is it possible he has a mask on? hmm...still creepy
This is a simple case of a missing flash. Because the room was too dark, the camera metered for a long exposure (the camera decided that, in order to gather enough light, it needed to keep the shutter open for a long time). During the long exposure time, the photographer moved the camera a small amount. This is evidenced in both the (admittedly creepy) elongation of the child's face as well as in the loopy trails made by the tree's lights. Even a second's exposure is too long for most people to hand hold a camera perfectly still; you need a tripod or a flash.
This turns out to be a cool effect. As with Elizabeth, it makes me think of Edvard Munch's painting "The Scream." Cool.
I'm using this as my Christmas card this year!
it looks like the boy is on fire. it's scary.
Kid looks like he watched that video tape in The Ring... 7 days...
"And I'm gonna get a Wii for Christmas and it's THIS BIG"
This is a screen saver for sure. If Francis Bacon were a photographer, this would be his masterpiece.
Scary, he looks like he is a part of the tree
Hauntingly beautiful? Um.... if you say so.
Is it me or is this really blurry?
OOF! This picture scares me! =[
he is probably singing and clapping to a christmas song
Ok, that is seriously the creepiest picture I've ever seen. That kid really does look like he morphed into the christmas tree.
AAAGH. i shouldn't look at this at three AM. and hauntingly beautiful? the lights on the tree are gorgeous, and the boy is definitely haunting. but hauntingly beautiful??? i pretty much agree with Shannon.
People are so quick to believe that Mr. Devil is tormenting Christians or whatever. The kid is laughing and moving. The cheap camera with the slow shutter made this master of macabre.
Not Satan or Wilford Brimley.
Morons....
this photo is creeeeeeepy.
a few things come to mind. but after some thought i can't get the burning letters: a.n.t.i.c.h.r.i.s.t. to remove themselves from my inner eye.
Weird this kid's skin is paler than his shirt! He looks like some kind of sick photoshop ghost. Haunting, not so much beautiful, since I have a ton of pictures with wiggly christmas lights
Haha, I love it. Kinda crepy though. The boy reminds me of that painting a starry night.
Grandpa has parkinsons.
