I'm Just Thinking... November 03, 2002 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
wish it was that easy to reorganize life...
resolve!
return!
ride!
A partial set list....what? no encore?
Reminds me of the philosophy of the aborigine people of Australia. As far as I understand it, and please forgive me if I get this completely and totally wrong, because we just started studying it, but life is defined by primal roles. Things like hunting, lovemaking, and running were all things that had been done and defined by those before them, therefore it was only when you started those activities and went into the meditative mindset needed for those activities that you shared a mind with those before you, and therefore lived.
I think I got that completely wrong, but it's an interesting connection to this list.
Emotions Resolved:
Return to running
hunt
ride
This farewell message -- written by Herbert after a week-long stay at the famous WestCoast Hotels where he'd sequestered himself in order to get over his divorce from a woman who decided 15 years and 2 children into their marriage that she was a lesbian and didn't want to be married to a man any longer -- was the last anyone heard of Herbert until his best-selling memoir debuted at the top of the NY Times bestseller list.
The memoir focuses on Herbert's successful efforts to one-up Teddy Roosevelt at being a bold, manly man who lived life with vigor.
Anyone who can so clearly describe his life plan in four short lines deserves to be on the bestseller list for a year.
LoL the last two are just perfect for the part of Washington I'm from.. depending on the season ya' either hunt or ride (quads) i just got a kick out of this one :)
