We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I personally like how all the ladies from Longuyland say it: Flarridahhh.
I live in warshington.
i live in ontario, eh.
:)
I've been to 4duh
but I come from InDieAnna
on ass9 ave ?
must be a joke
There's no particularly funny way of pronouncing where I live. We are pretty close to Noo Yawk and Bahstin, though.
I was pronouncing it too literally, and didn't even get it until I read the comments. Duh, indeed.
I live in uh-stray-uh ... mate.
Me too, man in oz (and I always thought it was like Emerald City, Oz. Double duh.)
I live in Tex-ass, y'all. (But Shu-caw-go born and raised.)
I live in Diana... duh!
And that would be in a duh-blewide in 4-duh.
A stunning and profound encapsulation of 21st century living -- rivaled, perhaps, only by Descartes' foundational assertion, "Cogito ergo sum". Surely, this is the product of one of the greatest minds of our era.
@ Gloria: very funny.
I read '4 duh' as the kind of car a stereotypical energetic television evangelist would drive. "Friends-uh! Help me reach out to the world-uh! Give what you can-uh! Help me fix my 4 duh! So I can preach-uh!"
I'm uh yooop-ah eh! Technically a Mitch-i-gAnder but y'all know us yooop-ahs are a different breed, don't ya know!!
:)
An we used to live in the Chev-yuh. An before dat we lived in the Pon-dyak.
@Geek and Librarian, y'all crack me up! It made me remember the old radiovangelist, C. W. Burpó. "That's B as in Bahbul, U as in universal, R (he said it Ah) as in Revelations, P as in Paul and O as in Om-NI-Po-Tent. Send yo fahv dolluhs..."
I come from up Nort'. I'm half Yooper, and half Wisconsinner.
i'm a hoser, eh.
@ Geek- there you go again, making me laugh out loud while sitting alone at the computer!!
@A Woman in the Dirty South:
I'm from Scansin too (though born in Bahstin.)
When I first saw this, I just thought it was a note to let someone know what apartment they lived in.
I like in Oklahomo.
I had a 4duh once, but switched to a Toyoduh.
I thought it was 'I live in Four, duh.'
I once lived in a building called Three (college) so why not 'Four'?
I'm a Californicator.
I live in 4duh:
Is it better than 3duh
or worse than 5duh?

she/he is obviously telling the other person which apartment he/she lives in. "I live in 4. Duh". DUHHHHHHHHH.
Anybody out there from Fluffya?
BTW - Good luck Phillies...Iggles not so much.
Well, I do declay-uh. Ah reckon ah maght count as a lil bit of a suthnah. Y'all evah known any folk from down in Miss-ippi befo'? Waell... Now y' do.
On a related note, what the hell is a yooper?
@ Flargy Mostly I think you're correct about the pronunciation of Connecticut but have you ever heard how Katherine Hepburn or Cary Grant say it in old movies? Very formal and ultra correct. Almost as it it was only one or two syllables. I've never heard anyone in real life say it that way. (I love CT. btw)
Schneh: I think a "yooper" is someone from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You know, the part above the mitten.
Say "ya" to the UP, eh?
@Schneh: Ooh ooh I know, I know! A Yooper is someone from the Upper Peninsula (the U.P.) of Michigan, one of the most beautiful areas in the U.S. My gramma was a Yooper. Maybe I'm cuzzins to the Yoopers above?
Howdy @mlm! I'm in Dall-ass, genrilly speakin'. Aways north ov thar. How 'bout yerself?
@ D: Jinx! You owe me a coke!
I love when we play party games at Foundmagazine.com.
8-)
Night in gale - we switched places! I'm Tex-ass born and raised but live in Shu-caw-go now. Have some fajitas for me... I'll go have a slice of Giordano's for you.
MMMMmmmm, Giordano's. I was in Shi-caw-go a few weeks ago, and I dream of that pizza. Then, I had to drive all the way through N-D-Yanna to Oh-hi-uh. I live in the Dayton area (no funny way to say that), but I hail from the 'Natti.
@Night in Gale--I'm over to Foat Wuth, genrilly speakin', a bit southeast uf they-ya. (OK, I'm totally getting carried away now.) Looks like we're neighbors!
@Jen K--I was born in Dayton and lived in Fairborn for a while. (not much to brag about, though) My whole family hails from the 'Natti.
me too. ;)
Perhaps it's the fact that I haven't slept for 2 days, but this is funny.
