The Work Has Been Completed
FOUND by Jen Lawrence in Chicago, Illinois
I found this on the door to the break room downstairs. If there really was a bird, and this wasn't just an uncharacteristically poetic moment for one of the guys in facilities management, that bird would have had to make it through two sets of double doors to get into the break room from outside. Then again, in a Chicago winter, a bird's gotta be persistent.

Oh that sounds lovely, like a downtrodden and unhappy corporate worker bursting free from his boring life and flying off to pursue whatever makes him happy!

hurrah for romance!

Ha, I wouldn't be surprised if a bird made it inside somehow. I lived in a basement apartment once, and one day a bird literally dropped through my ceiling and started freaking out, flying around my room. I had to throw a blanket over him and carry him outside and let him go. It was totally mysterious how he got inside, much less how he got TO THE BASEMENT. So anyway, yeah, those birds ARE persistent!

Sounds like code. "'THE BIRD HAS BEEN FREED.'" I repeat, 'THE BIRD HAS BEEN FREED.'"

a bird in the hand
This makes me so happy!! I was a camp counsellor once, and I had to free a bird from the dining hall. That poor bird WANTED to be outside, though...I hope the bird in the Find made it.
