We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I do believe that that little jingle there is a line or two from the movie "Napoleon Dynamite".
Wow. Trigonometry. I love SOHCAHTOA....so helpful!
TOASOHCAH is pretty much the most helpful thing for me in Geometry this year. Its pretty much the reason I'm not failing...
What is SOHCAHTOA/TOASOHCAH? Really - if something will help me with Geometry, I'd like to know about it! Thanks.
I hate technology. It fails me every day.
You're right, Lance. That's Kip's little solo in ND.
Me,
SOH stands for Sine equals Opposite over Hypotenuse.
CAH stands for Cosine equals Adjacent over Hypotenuse.
TOA stands for Tangent equals Opposite over Adjacent.
The triangle stuff. Gr I hated that.
Heh, my teacher taught us "Some Old Horse Caught Another Horse Taking Oats Away".
Even if that song's a quote, I certainly remember thinking "I love technology!" many times when busting out my graphing calculator.
Ahh!! Napoleon Dynamite rocks my world!
i was taught Some Old Hags Can Always Hide Their Old Age.
Geeks!!!!
I love it.
This was my Maths teachers politically correct way of remembering it:
"Silly Old Hitler
Caught A Headache
Through Our Aircraft"
Lucky Chris and Kel I say, no-one could ever replace LaFawnduh for me...
but today isn't March 04, 2006. Or did I miss something?
Never seen this before.
Thanks to Jonathan- I thought it was just me. 2006, hmmm, a good year but not really one I want to revisit.
SOHCAHTOA! BFF!
anyone know her inverse cousin CHOSHATAO?
I was taught-
Some Old Hippy
Caught Another Hippy
Tripping On Acid.
Deligthful.
Hmm, so now it's Jan 30, 2010, and this was my Random Find of the Day. I'm pretty sure that somewhere in the seemingly random code of the dates here, there HAS to be some deep hidden symbolism, but I don't know the mathematical formula to figure it all out...
But just to throw another mnemonic device out there, in order to remember the planets of our solar system, in order from the sun when I was a kid, I always remembered My Very Excellent Mother Just Said Ugly Noodle Pants. (of course now I guess "pants" is no longer a planet, but oh well.)
