We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
White Warrior, "Yo, Demon, dude...um, you've got some toilet paper stuck on the bottom of your tail."
HMMMM...
British find.... Yellow teeth
No stereotypes here
OMG! It's Oprah and the po po!
Look out! The 4th Horseman!
It's not just that the horse has yellow teeth. They all have horrible crooked ugly teeth. Who's all for socializing dentistry now?
That would make an awesome cover for my band's next album. All I have to do now is for a band and record an album.
I like how the demon dude has 6-pack abs. Or 6-pack ribs, since they're off center.
Oh, this just knocked the killer lobster out of the darling du jour spot. This is fantastic!
wow. the horse is straight outta picasso's Guernica
This is my new favorite!
The rider is checking the ground for a "puddle of doom."
I find the horse much scarier then the demon.
MY GAWD!!! That horse has a set of CHOPPERS!!
He's probably a talking horse. A talking horse with really bad breath.
this would look awesome on a t-shirt!!!
...and a short horse, so that the rider can put his feet down during demon attacks
The rider's head is smaller than his forearm. That's very telling.
That is truly amazing. I am proud to come from the same city as that magnificent artist.
I know Tom Finch IRL and he's shown me this found before. It's special.
It looks like they are conspiring to do something ungodly to that horse, and he knows it.
I think the spear-thing jutting up looks kind of phallic.
That horse is awesome! It looks like he is laughing.
Clearly what's going on here is that the rider just caught the Devil sticking his tail in the horse's patooty. The horse is not pleased.
Once upon a time in a sexually free kingdom far, far away an alligator and a duck billed platypus mated with a horse, and their union resulted in a pony, more or less, yet the pony detested brushing its' fearsome teeth. However that dentally challenged pony, grew up to be the noble steed of Sir Pinhead Longlegs and had many adventures throughout the land...
Mate! That is brilliant.
The red devil is pleased with the white knight who is delivering the horse a HiHo! surprise doggie-style...
@ k in london ... spot on about the Guernica look of the horse (and recalling that I got to see that painting back in my college days when it was still in New York)
@ Geek NOT in my mom's basement
If you ever do form this band, might I suggest "Sir Pinhead Longlegs" for a name?
Heck, I'll even join your band. Never mind that I can't sing or play an instrument...I'll join it!
as for this find, my kid has this Play Doh CD rom activity thing with all sorts of activities for the toddler and preschooler. One of the activities is "creating" (by dragging and dropping components) cars, robots and other machines, then painting them different colors.. when you switch colors, this creepy little dude slinks out from the corners and swaps out the paint bucket and yells the new color... it's all very educational.
that creepy little dude looks almost exactly like our White Knight here. Now I'll have to dig up that CD and get a screencap of that.
I would actually pay good money for both this and the "Matricidal Lobster" if they were large paintings.
Don Quixote?
It's St. George and the Dragon, saw many versions in art history classes, this is by far the best.
@ k in London - Good call on Picasso!
I looove this picture. Can I use it on our Christmas cards?
Great eyes on the horse. I feel like he is looking at me.
This Picture & in utero were an inspiration!.....
and I have way too much time on my hands.

@ Alvacado: By sheer coincidence, Sir Pinhead Longlegs is the drummer for my fictitious band, and was also my nickname in high school.
love it, did anyone else wonder why the artist neglected to add any details to the rider, while the horse is fantastic? Must be filled with deep meaning, if only I could figure it out...and by the way, @ julse, kool aid pie, you're kidding, right??
p.s. my spam question was a math question (too early for that) and the answer was 420, hmmmm.
Dear Amy in Southfield, MI
go to tinyurl.com and turn your long (and therefore truncated by Found so it doesn't screw up the formatting of the entire page) URL into a small, manageable one so we can see what you're getting at!
I for one can't wait to see what inspiration has struck you!
Elizabeth, while I can't speak for Found, I think you should use this picture wherever you possibly can.. but be sure to put Foundmagazine.com somewhere on every card! Spread the word that Found is Awesome.
I'm wondering about the title. Is it the name of the artist? (and the year it was painted?) Was that information on the back?
just to clarify, the title refers to an annotation at the bottom left corner that seems to have been cropped out.

oops, make that:

This could be my next tattoo.
Thanks for sharing this Find, TF. And even more thanks for the clarification on the title, and the link to your Flickr. Good stuff!
The name Lowiz is kinda cool.
All I can think about when I see this is Napoleon Dynamite...
I am so making Christmas cards out of this one and printing the title and finder and an not about Found magazine.
BTW Found #5, so awesome.
that horse has got one mean grill!
