We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I LOVE her animal print motif. It's appropriate for the occasion.
Her look is not snuggly - it's sinister. Watch out, Mr. Tiger, can't you see she's already wearing animal skins?
From the looks of her hands, she's been mauling tigers for years.
I'm frightened!
man hands!
Uhura hasn't aged well.
Hunh. Apparently the liger is pretty much her favorite animal, too.
I know it is too late and I have been studying too long when my first thought upon seeing this picture was, "Oh my god, watch out for toxoplasma gondii from that cat."
I'm glad it is only a stuffed animal and she won't have to worry!
anyone else thing those tigers may be real? One's kinda climbing up her leg and the other's in her arm. Maybe she couldn't support that top tiger w/ just an arm - but i'm thinking those may be acutal tiger cubs. call me dilusional
S'OK, rach, real fur doesn't shine like that in flash.
LOL @ Geek!! My very thought!
When we were wee tads and ST was new (a long time ago!) my sister insisted that Dianna Ross played Uhura. Ah, the dreams of childhood.
@ fairy godmother - Strange, I thought exactly the same...
I think she is actually giving it a very nice snuggle. Tigers don't get this sort of affection very often, you know. Give the lady a chance. Maybe she's just one of those well-meaning people who suffocate those she hugs?
What is that on her head? Shower cap? Old-fashioned hairdryer bonnet? Hairnet over a 'fro?
i'm sure she'll be fine, seeing as she's a little old to be pregnant and toxoplasmosis is really only dangerous then.
yes i was studying microbiology too fairy godmother
Cruella DeVille, Cruella DeVille, if she doesn't scare ya, no evil thing will......
Someone's got a tiger in her tank, and it ain't Exxon.
Be careful pretty ladge they are not to be trusted!!!
Love, Roy
...and then there's the thick velvet curtain that blocks out the sunlight. Hmmm. I'm thinking this liger is stuffed with 'something special' from the islands. Granny is glad to see it arrived safely, and that the 'stuffing' can now be divided up and sold for a handsome profit.
Either that or this is some strange voodoo ritual.
This one is so strange...
Almost as if it were posed so that the tigers look real. She's smiling, but it looks as if the top tiger is going to bite her face off.
What is the curtain backdrop? Did the photographer get the angle wrong? Or is it covering her presentation board for the next meeting of Friends of Tigers, Detroit chapter.
She kind of reminds me of Aunt Esther from Sanford and Son.
This is a very strange photo. I too had to look twice, to make sure the tiger wasn't real. In addition to that, the chair she is sitting on is covered with drapes, that blue thing in the background is some kind of window covering, the lamp on the dresser has no shade, and those hands, those hands are most definitely man hands.
And I forgot to mention that funky hairdo...
I'm with Rach. I think they are real. The bottom one is not posed in a stuffed way. They are 2 totally different little guys. Her arms and hands are working hard to keep them in place because they are heavy.
..I believe that ligers are our future.
feed them well and let them stalk and prey..
Oh.. and that thing on my head? it's the lampshade. It's been a crazy couple months.
A transvestite self portrait?
I think those tigers are real. Look at the fur, the white patches. Stuffed animal construction doesn't do such nice blending of different colored furs. There would be definite seams if those were stuffed. But I could be wrong.
I also know enough about wild cat cubs to know that it is a bad idea to hold cubs at eye level and snuggle them with your face. This may have been Irma's final photo op with an intact face. That is, if those are real cats.
Geek's Uhura comment wins today's competition for funniest comment.
The tiger is not real, it has a seam in its head. Also a tiger of that size would be quite heavy, I would think.
SO how long before the tiger turns to butter I wonder?

For some reason, I had to paste it into the address bar twice before it would go to the page. But once you get there, it's worth it.
Which came out--the lady or the tiger?
The backdrop appears to be rigid, covered with fabric to hide whatever it is. I had a mattress that I leaned up against the wall in college to make a "divan"--which I also hid with a large Indian durry.
Wait a minute, I take back my earlier comment. Look at the shoulder joints where the 'leg' is attached to the body. That is totally not real. I say stuffed. My bad.
Nice fishnet stockings, though.
I got nothin' for the picture- just want to see what Flargy's link does with my name and location. Cool link, Flargy- I guess I knew it could be done, but I've never tried it.
Muy bien, Flargy.
-Pantalones de la lanza en un trance
This is a still from the new TV show "What Not to Wear, Hold or Sit in Front Of".
This photo is starting to make me uncomfortable...it looks like the beginning of some plushie lovin.
Everyone in the animal world knows tigers can't be trusted, the especially slutty ones mate with lions don't ya know.
Hug a bear instead, we won't maul you.. (if we like you that is. )
@ Flargy Wow! Very cool. Even my "Shakespeare" was translated well! (Apparently.)
Cada uno en el mundo animal sabe que los tigres no puedan ser confiado en, los especialmente slutty se acoplan con los leones ya no saben.
Abruce un oso en lugar de otro, nosotros no maul le. (Si tenemos gusto usted que sea.)
the juxtaposition of all those patterns is making me dizzy. . .
@ Smallbear...uh...er...vale de acuerdo.
De los tigres no te puedes fiar, especialmente los guarros que se aparean con las leonas, ¿sabes? (assuming that the tiger is the male and the lioness is the female, going on the photo here where the tiger is the...aggressor?)
Sorry, but I just couldn't let that one lie, sleeping tiger or not.
This is the crouching tiger--and we had the hidden dragon the other day.
Orinoco maybe you should stick with English, Babelfish didn't care much for your Spanish. This is what it gave me when I translated what you wrote: (I did try it twice btw.)
Agreement bond.
of the tigers not you can FIAR especially the guarros that mate with the lioness?
Understand?
No, unfortunately I don't. :) What were you trying to say?
[It's cool that you tried to do it in another language though :-)]
@Terrie-Is-So-Very in totally-unique-ville
i totally agree! there's something definitely creepy going on here.
notice the leopard print coat by the orange fish netted knee? this person has a *serious* animal print issue that needs to be addressed.
i think they make pills for that nowadays.
anyone over the age of 19 wearing orange fishnets (with an over abundance of animal print no less) has issues. probably with crack.
@Smallbear...oh, well...I guess Google Translator and Babelfish DO have it all over a degree in translation, bilingual certification, and over 25 yrs experience as a professional translator...you're right. Ignore me.
What I wrote was a translation of what you tried to write, in Spanish as it is spoken in Spain. When it's what you do for a living, you do, or don't do. There is no "try."
Fiarse-to trust.
Guarro/a, slut (male or female, and yes, they come in both genders.)
I could continue to diagramme the whole thing out for you, but I have a class to teach.
Merry Christmas.
Orinoco I didn't mean to offend. I nearly failed Spanish in High School, so I had no way of reading what you wrote w/o Babelfish. I'm sorry, really. :(
I appreciate what you did and the fault lies with me and Babelfish, not you.
And Merry Christmas to you too.
GO TIGERSSS!
LSU Tigers that is!
The lady has pride!
