My Dearest Beloved
FOUND by Sean C. Bilby
I was going through a set of old books donated to the library by the family of a recently deceased leading citizen. This note was in one well-worn textbook. I don't know if this note was directed at him, from him, or why he kept it all these years in a book he probably used throughout his professional life.

This letter is circa 1940. That is when he was a student at MCV. It was found in 2003.

Jonathan in the study, with inky fingers from trying to put in a new typewriter ribbon,
Someone trying out a typewriter – newly acquired for college?

Picks up nearest available scrap of paper, types the first thing that comes into his/her head (hence the nonsense year in the date). His/her ‘dearest beloved’ is looking over his/her shoulder, hence the teasing message. The leading citizen was either the typist or the Dearest beloved and was so tickled he kept it all those years. No doubt made him chuckle every time he came across it. The sort of thing my Dad would have done (and the sort of thing I did on his typewriter when I was little – sad I didn’t keep any of them).

I think he kept it all those years because he thought it was funny.

Amazingly profound & powerful words.

Coincidence the date at the top is march 27 298333 (280,000 years into the future to the day it was posted).
It reminds me of that iggy&stooges song Hard to Beat/your pretty face is going to hell.
