We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
My first thought was the "Nathaniel and Isabel" books from Six Feet Under.
Zack drew this portrait after getting some mushrooms last night for his pals Ryan and Isobel at the community college.
Why does Ryan have actual legs and Isobel just has sticks? And what is Isobel's stick arm reaching for? This was definitely drawn by Ryan. He's hot for Isobel (and hopefully willing to wait).
@Chillin, because Ryan is wearing pants and Isobel is wearing a dress. She's obviously reaching for his pants.
(That sounds funnier in my head than in this box....)
Isabel is either crying or a little heavy on the rouge.
I think Ryan wishes he was a spider or a fly with all those eyes. Creepy!

I think Ryan is a Bjork fan, and was depicting himself as part of his favourite song.
You know, looking back at this pic I think that isobel is kicking Ryan instead of grabbing his pants leg. I believe Ryan and Isobel got into a fight. Ryan told his lil' sis that he didn't want to play with her anymore and she, in turn, kicked him but when he went to tell Mom, mom told them both "to behave". Ryan, feeling put out for being dismissed like that decided to emphasize his case to mom by drawing this picture. You see there's ryan with a happy smile on his face looking the other way and minding his business and there's Isobel with an evil-looking smile on her face as she is in the process of kicking her brother.

Probably just my warped mind, but it looks like there's a knob behind Isobel's head that has been scribbled out. The style of drawing seems too young for the person doing it to understand and illustrate "dick head", but then thinking about my brother when he was little, maybe that's not a fair assumption.
Looks like something I would have drawn as a child. I loved drawing people, although I had a weird obsession w/ making sure ea. one had a bellybutton.
Interesting theory, Winston but Ryan's no innocent, here. Isobel kicked him because he snatched out a fistful of her hair and is fixing to snatch out some more with the other hand.
I find it interesting that Ryan's hands are scribbled out. It almost looks as if he is dragging her by her hair. If you look at Ryan's face he has a smile and freckles. But look at Isobel she is smiling but appears to have tears running down her face as well.
She loves him, he abuses her. He feels guilty that's why that hands are scribbled out. Scribble out the hands that commit the abuse.
i think Ryan has freckles too.

I JUST noticed where it says Isobel and Ryan! I wondered how everybody knew their names. I didn't even see the Ryan w/ all the scribbles and Isobel to me looked like I Sove w/ a little heart shaped V. I thought they just spelled Love wrong.
I need to start paying better attention! Sheesh, wake up Christina!
When I first saw this, I thought Isobel was about to make this a dirty find.
I think Isobel is mad because Ryan took her doll. (Its scribbled out on the right side) So she is going to kick him to get it back.Then Ryan drew a picture to explain it to his mom, but didnt want to get in trouble so he scribbled out the doll and hair pulling.
isobel only has one arm, but apparently she makes good use of it
i cant tell where ryan's nose is (because of all the freckles) or maybe he has no nose, or maybe he has no freckles and several noses
I'm guessing that this is a self-portrait of the artist with his/her sibling. Its nice that the artist drew both people the same size. I believe that when children draw pictures of their family, they'll typically make their siblings tinier in comparison and farther away from the parents because of sibling rivalries.
