The Police Are Responding
FOUND by Cat Cameron
I had just moved into a new house where some dodgy pipe work kept me awake at night. At 4 am during a fit of sleepless rage I pulled up the floorboards to find not pipes, but this note. As far as I am aware there are no schools nearby but what concerns me more than that is how someone thinks "kiddies" playing football at school is a crime. Also how Margaret felt the need to tell the author of this note about it, who in turn felt the need to tell their mother. The note is also written on the back of a vehicle inspection form which resulted in a 'fail' so I'm guessing good news didn't come around that often in this house.
chrome toaster in in the bathtub... zzzzzzttt. there go the lights.
Whoever wrote the note is about to leave for work. Mom is due home momentarily.
No one is allowed on school grounds on holidays, weekends, or summer break, due to vandalism and other problems. Her younger brother is likely to be one of the kiddies who snuck onto school grounds to play football (as Mom is well aware), so she wants Mom to know where to find little bro if he's not around when Mom gets home: at the cop shop. Margaret lives next to the school, and she's a nosy busy body. Hates kids, you know. But since "mom" is an old friend and pinnochle partner, she thought fair warning might be in order.

How the heck it came to be under the floorboards??? hmm. Maybe little bro outran the cops, got home, found the note, hid it under the floorboards so Mom wouldn't know he was playing in forbidden territory, and never returned to school grounds when school was not in session.. ever.. again.

Blender in the sink trying to get near toaster
A bit creepy as to how it got under the floorboard.

P.S. I like chrome toaster“s idea.
P.P.S. The spam protection is getting harder every day. xD

Your friend in the state you love
The second part of the note (the police are responding) is written by someone else. Meaning whoever the note was intended for, got it and had someone reply for them and return it.

Wander in g around in the trunkful of Finds in the attic
It's addressed to Mum and the Finder used the word "dodgy".. Cat Cameron, where was this Found? I'd guess either England or Australia. The only people I know who use "dodgy" are either British or from Down Undah.

So the kiddies were playing soccer, not football. this totally changes my mental picture of the events surrounding the writing of the note. (Not that it matters.)

Cat Cameron, how did it all work out with the noisy pipes?

This Find was on my birthday. (not that it matters.)

Wandring Wizzy in Hawley
Why the hell is so much stuff on here labeled as "creepy?"

I think there are a lot of skeerdy cats on here.
