Cross-eyed Christmas
FOUND by Jason Arsenault in Bedford, New Hampshire
I bought a Brownie Hawkeye (introduced 1949) at a "Barn Sale." Included with my purchase were three exposed rolls. This was one of a few images that could be pulled from the damaged negatives.
The Captain in Tenille

I'm a little worried about the demon kid on the left. Is he about to send someone to the cornfield? And that evil little troll on the table...

Awww look at the little demon boy. Isn't he just darling?

MMM. I could totally go for some demon-boy-holiday-troll right about now.

It was this holiday picture that made TV producers cast Butch Patrick for the role of Eddie Munster.

That jolly little elf on the left is somehow related to the woman Jay had a vision of a few dyas ago. At least they've got the same eyes. Maybe he's Jay!?!

Aw, quit pickin' on the kid with the glasses. I bet he grew up to a fine young man.

I thought this was some kind of school picture - a here are my buds and a favorite teach shot - until the mention of Mom and Grandma.

Speaking of Butch Patrick, teacher/father looks like Fred Gwynne.

Is Santa shooting a bird?
+ June 19, 2008 06:09 AM +
Pepper in your nose
I think Santa is shooting the bird. All I could see was the possessed Satan child. The door in the back looks like an elevator.

Great find! I hope this one get the "Hey, that's me!"

We have a family picture like this one (a studio pic) for our church directory. My brother looks like his eye's are rolled back in his head.

Add to my list of favorites.

Clover in the Lawn with the Blue Star Creeper
Yay! Another photo find! What is on the wall behind them? The "open door" looks like a painting. The other thing that looks like it is actually framed in molding like a real door, looks more like a piece of paper or metal with a ragged tear down the center. What the heck is that?? And do you notice the scary shadow-looking thing on it, just above the smallest boy's head? It looks like a demon shadow, with wings.

That would be a table top grandfather clock reflecting in the window behind them. Sorry to burst your demon bubble.

demon in hell
it's a good thing for the demon child that this family didn't get the photo developed. i know when i made stupid faces in photos i always got in trouble for ruining nice pictures of my family. and imagine if he really was a demon and he did get in trouble! they'd have all died!

or maybe they did anyway....dun dun dunnnnn.

If he were a real demon child he wouldn't photograph, would he? No, wait, that's vampires. Which leads me to ask, where's the "mother" in this photo? Shouldn't she be standing in back next to the dad? Is she a vampire?

Flargy in New Haven, CT
That little maniac is so psyched that his strategically placed Zyklon B tank is releasing the gas exactly as planned.
Little Santa knows he's gonna be the first to go, so he's flipping the bird to the world one last time before he goes ho-ho-hoing up to the big elf farm in the sky.

Santa shoots the bird! Hee Hee. I find that insanely funny. Also, I thought Grandma was another kid. As a matter of fact, when I first saw him/her, I thought she/he kind of looked like Nicholas from "Eight is Enough". Anybody remember that show?

@ JULSE- 'Eight is Enough' was the bomb!! I watched it once a week when it first aired...great, great show!

I love the *candle* that's burning beside the Santa, there's the hope that the cross-eyed boy isn't a 'demon'.

When I look at the picture, I assumed that the "grandma" was the mother, the father was in the back, and the rest were five kids (with the oldest to the right). Looks like a happy, kooky family (at least from the outside...)

I don't think that's Grandma. It's little sister who just recently had her hair done in her first perm (and now regrets it).

Yeah, *Grandma* is Mother, and her 5 children, with Father in the back.

I just know...

Clover in a hurry to get out of the demon bubble
Christine, you may be right about a grandfather clock reflection. I guess. Maybe. But how is that a window? What is that ragged crack down the middle? Maybe I should try looking at this on a different computer. Because I just cannot figure out what that is. Anybody?

demon, at first glance I thought your comment said "it's a damn good thing."
+ June 19, 2008 09:57 AM +
Clover in the Lawn
I think the woman in front is the mother, the man in the back is the father, and all the rest are their children. They look old because having all those kids is wearing them out. I pity the oldest daughter, too. She must have had to help out a lot with raising those boys.

Holy @^$@#!! He IS cross-eyed! Honestly, I thought he was just wearing glasses and there was a white-out type reflection off the lenses.

Upon further review, Grandma is Mom, Mom is sister Jane, crossed-kid is Trey, the husky boy is Kip, the one in front of dad is Leonard and the baby of the family, Timmy, is standing behind Jane.

Ho, ho, ho y'all!

Maybe Sister Jane is actually Aunt Bobbi: Mom's youngest sister who's just recently moved into the house under the guise of helping to raise the children. But the truth is that Aunt Bobbi’s husband threw her out after finding her in a compromising position with a female member of their church.

@ JODABABES & FREONZ- Ahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Great story-telling, guys! Believe it or not, I'm still drinking coffee (I never drink coffee this late into the day!) and I'm like...wired! FOR SOUND!!!!
So, yeah, I'm also laughing soo bloody hard, it's making my ribs sore, and, my sides and facial grin are raw!
But, *laughter is the meds for your soul* so it's a fantastic, in a sort'a, side-splitting *happy-hurt-so-good* way!!

Sticky Note in the Wind
I know this one; it's not as weird as it seems, just bad camera equipment/lighting and very old film.
This is the original cast of "Leave it to Beaver".. before it was syndicated.
The most interesting puzzle would be: can you spot Eddie Haskell?

Hey Jason Arsenault! This Find is a real gem. Have you considered submitting it to that "I Found Your Camera" website?

I'm also a middle child who made many goofy faces during countless group photos during my childhood, so this one warms my heart. (I bet the old man was a riot....)

What is wrong with me? Why can't I just accept the grandfather clock reflection and the entrance to the netherworld/Cubs at Wriggly explanations? This is really bugging me. I'm going back to cleaning the file cabinets now.

@Clover ... you probably weren't very successful at seeing the "Magic Eye Pictures" a few years back, either, huh. Tell you what, take this Find in the magnified version, set it up on the other side of the room, and then stand there staring at it until the grandfather clock "pops" into view. Or until a crowd gathers behind you wondering what you're looking at.

That looks like an elevator door in the back. Perhaps they were having dinner at the dining room at a hotel. Who dresses in suits and ties to have dinner at home?

@Clover: That window is *reflecting* the crack into the netherworld. The flash caught it. The crack is going to devour demon-boy and is opening wider and wider. But it is behind and to demon boy's right.

I can't beleive no one has agreed with John yet, that is totally Dr. Ruth! That's the first thing I thought of, Dr. Ruth in the 50's.

I agree with others that this is mom, dad and kids. The kids all look like a perfect mixture of half of each parent. The girl and the mother have the exact same face.

I'm in way over my head here!
The "window reflecting the grandfather clock" isnt settling with me either. I dont think its a window because it doesn't have any curtains on it. They seem like the type to have curtains, especially back then. Doesn't it look like their is curtains at the very right edge of the picture? They wouldnt have heavy drapes on one window and nothing on the next. Its driving me crazy as well.

Could it be that the door has something hanging over it? like some sort of Christmas decoration?
