OUCH! September 03, 2007 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Looks a lot like one of the slides at Waterworld in NW Phoenix.
Ouch. That brings back painful memories. There is a reason why they tell you to cross yours legs when you go down those water slides.
I think that's a slide from a water park in Panama City Beach, Florida. I'm almost positive, really. I was always too little to go on it when I went, but it looks like the menacing one I remember. I only vaguely remember going there in the first place.
There was a slide like this at a park my family used to go to when I was pretty young. I saw a woman go down it head first once, and when she hit the water the top of her bikini got pushed down. The first pair of boobies I ever saw. I was about five or so. Good times.
there is a water park by palm springs... maybe that one?
Reminds me of Big Surf in Phoenix...sigh
that slide looks like alot of fun!
Matt in KC, you're just precious.
I would say that might be the water slide from wet 'n wild, a las vegas favourite until it's demise a few years back... actually i think that slide was called the bonzai bonzai. yes.. actually i just realized that even the name of childhood waterparks have dirty names here...
I love this picture! It reminds me of summer when I was a child. Water parks were one of my favorite treats.
its definitely not the one at waterworld, vern. does look arizona-ish though.
It is interesteing that there are a couple of WaterWorld mentions for AZ - I actually thought it was one set up at the Waterworld in Denver, CO. - but I haven't been there in 10 years so I can't be sure.
i think it is the Kamakazi from Wet n' Wild in Orlando, FL. used to go there once a year or so when i was a kid. as i recall, pigs, the bonzai was a 45 degree slide that you went down on riding a sled. the Kamakazi was one sweet water slide in the early 1980's...
@Lindsey
Funny, I was thinking of a water park in Tampa that has a similar slide. :)
I really want to go swim now. I mean...really, look at that water.
That is Oasis Water Park in Palm Springs, CA.
