We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
A tiger chasing a badger?! This is the kind of thing that goes on in my head all day long!
And speaking of robots - I was at a bar earlier tonight, and between bands, they were playing a song over the PA that featured a computerized voice singing about robots fucking in various places. I Googled the lyrics, and it turns out it was by TV on the Radio (whoever that is). Go here to read the lyrics:

The part about Oprah is my favorite.
Sweet Aaron Copland reference. Smart kid!
Alien invasion...robots...President's Day...tiger chasing badger...if these are the kid's illustrated notes from a Bible study on Revelations 12, it would be interesting to know which church it came from. It's no wierder than some scenarios I've heard posited for the End.
And all this to an Aaron Copeland soundtrack? Personally, though, I'd go for Mossolov's "Making of Steel" or Honneger's Pacific 231 as the background music for Armageddon, over Appalachian Spring. But that's just me.
If that's what futuristic robots are going to look like, I no longer fear them. (I always thought they'd look like the Terminator)
I'm ready to party with my futuristic robot friends.
@Flargy... Clearly the robot lyrics were written by someone on crack.
Speaking of robots, Why will futuristic robots be shaped like ducks? It just seems like bad design to me.
Happy 108th birthday, Mr. Copland! [Please don't be too freaked out by the ravings on this page.]
@Flargy... you weren't at toad's place by any chance, were you?
As long as the futuristic robots are playing instruments and we all can read Peanuts strips, all will be well.
As for the alien scenario, I think whoever draw this sketch listened to Jeff Wayne's 'The War of the Worlds' while doing so. Very cool music, btw.
Hooray for Movie Saturday!
Strikes me as a list of potential band names...?
Oh. I misread it. It's Scary Movie on a Saturday Night. Nevermind.
Gabe's a good speller, though.
Seeing the alien reminded me of the Indiana Jones movie I watched last night (the most recent release). Ugh.
Otherwise, I like Aaron's drawing :)
Robots don't look like ducks. Ducks look like robots. Which proves God created the universe past, present, and future simultaneously.
I'm betting that duck read yesterday's rock and roll Find and took it to heart.
I wonder if that *futuristic robot* is playing some jazz? If so...I'm lookin' forward to the future.
Aaron COP-LAND...
Gabby Hayes (dabbnabit!)
Aliens Invading Eurff.
Charle Brown 'and' the Peanuts
(my new rock band name) - we dress as ducks and do Kraftwerk cover tunes... where we rock out and strut our stuff..
What else is there to do on President's Day when you're stuck with other Christian Utes in the basement of your local Christian church?
is gabe smoking a cigar? eating a long pepperoni? playing some sort of recorder? or does he have a tongue like transparent flypaper? is the wasp on the side of his head a pet? and why does he wear such a small hat?
these are just a few of the questions i would like to ask gabe.
Maybe this is what some Aaron Copeland composition sounded like to the lid. As it went through different movements it evoked different images in his/her head.
I promise it's spelled Copland, everyone, not, Copeland. :)
Gina,
Nope, Cafe Nine. Were you at Toads? There's rarely anything worth going to see there these days (for me, anyway).
yes, thanks, No Diggity, Copland. I don't know which is better, the find or the posts! my heart is full, all my favorites in one find: Copland, aliens, saxophone playing robot ducks!
This is a great find, I love the elaborate titles contrasting with the silly titles. And by the way, Flargy...TV On the Radio are immense :D
The distant future...
There is only one dance, the robot.
No, there is also the robo-boogie.
@Flargy, no I wasn't, but wish I had been (I used to live in New Haven, but am now in PA)... because there was a great band there last night.
Ching-a-ring-a-ring ching chaw..... *puke*
Man, I can only hope I have a son that puts words and pictures together like this.
This probably a game I've played before, but don't know the name of it.
Rules:
One person writes a sentence, another draws a picture of the sentence, and a third tries to decode the drawing to get closest to the original sentence with out reading it.
that, or it's like middle school when the music teacher plays a selection of music and has the class write down whatever comes to mind as they listen. maybe this is the typical add kid's response?
I like the little touch of the patch on the top dude's cowboy hat.
What's the all-time-scariest movie about aliens invading Earth?
(I really can't think of one.. but did they make a movie out of The Tommyknockers? that was a pretty creepy book!!)
I knew a autistic kid named gabe (also in Minnesota) he liked to draw stuff like this
I think they were probably playing telephone pictionary. most likely the best game ever played.
Wow. I have a lot in common with this kid! Those are all things that make me happy as well. Especially Aaron Copland! What a great kid!
