We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
You must be flattered! So when's the wedding?
I hope she left a number!
Awwwwww ^ ^
i wish we could be this honest to one another in person.
At first glance I took this as a flirtatious message. After a second reading though I wonder if perhaps this is someone's thank you for a stranger's smile that came at just the right time. I can imagine this individual walking past and the recipient smiling and nodding at them, not knowing that this person was at rock bottom. Maybe he/she was fed up with the overall attitude of the area in which this took place and couldn't believe that some one would be so kind as to smile to a stranger, thereby indicating that they were from somewhere else.
I've left notes like that before. Did a relationship develop from it? If so, how was/is it? I'm just being nosey. I'm a romatic at heart anyway. Hope all turned out well. : )
My wish for you is that you gained two things from this. 1) You learned something about yourself. 2) You relearned something about other people. If you only stopped at "little surpised ego rush" you missed the real gift. Best wishes.
I must be the only one who maybe thinking this but this sounds like someone got some and they live nearby or she knew he was visiting and left the note, i just hope it was good and the note leaves hope for seconds. Good Luck.
I really like the way she made her capital W
I hope she got the right car.
I wish Mr. Jim Adams would come back and give us an update from this note! Inquiring minds want to know..
I find it funny that "young" seems to have been added as an afterthought above "handsome". Hmm...
Are you /sure/ it was you're car. >.>
This made me smile... don't know why, but it did!
Foundmagazine.com has re-inspired me to leave flattering and anonymous messages for people.
Jim:
Do you have any idea what you did to deserve such a flirtatious note on your windshield?
You must have done something really special.
"I hope you found what you were looking for." The writer must have answered his question, maybe as to where a certain person lived, or where a restaurant was, or some such. And been very kind and courteous. A smile can save a life or at least change the outcome of a bad day.
I was once smiled at in passing--I was having a bad day and everything was going wrong. A girl walked by and caught my eye and smiled. The smile said, "Hang tough, friend, we've all been there." I felt she really *saw* me, and was aware of my bad day and sympathised. Lifted my spirits and things got better from there.
smile's are contagious try it, smile at somebody and see if they smile back.
I agree that it sounds like a note left after a one-nighter. Seems they were both amicable about it. Maybe they met each other at a bar or something the night before and then took it to the next level.
I wonder why people don't say what they feel more often..Or just jotit on a note. I try to tell someone if I like something about them instead of just thinking it. I will leave a note for someone, too. Because I bet it made his day, too.
So.. I'm a bit of an online freak and decided to search the name "Jim Adams" in Canada on MySpace. I ended up finding out about a 30 year old trucker (with 3 kids) cheating on his wife with an 18 year old girl he met online from New Hampshire. What's wrong with people?
this brought tears to my eyes!
This was so sweet, and I'm glad she took the time to write it and leave it. I wonder what she was sad about. I vacation at a cabin near Sault, Ontario, almost every summer and it's a very nice place, not like she makes it out to be. It has lots of beautiful trees and rocky hills, fresh air and wildlife, true north-country. Maybe she craves the excitment of an even bigger city, though it is the biggest city within a 3-hour drive of itself.
Snoopy girl in conflict:
Good thing "Jim Adams" is such a generic name, otherwise that would have ruined this for me. :/
To me, the emphasis on young says the note was written by a "cougar" to some hot young potential boy toy...
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
