That striped-donkey photo-op is very familiar to me. I grew up in San Diego which is right next door to "TJ". I saw this set up when I visited Tijuana one of those times. Silly caucasians.

I thought this pix looked familiar, I saw one like at the link below from 1952. It too has a striped creature (donkey?) I hope it not the same one, that would be too sad!
