To Do List (Dump Adam...)
FOUND by Trish in Knoxville, Tennessee
Found this stuck to a page in the middle of a used book.

ooooh, nice to do list. I think the author might want to rethink the order of run training - perhaps the 5km first, then the half marathon. With all that running, perhaps the weight loss will take care of itself. I also like "waterfall" and "europe" as things to do. Makes dumping adam look easy.

Reminds me of a man I sat next to on an airplane who was making a to-do list. His first item: "Throw Mom out." I hope he was joking, and meant she was finishing her vacation.

That said, I think if the writer "dumps Adam" perhaps the rest of their goals may be easier to reach, if they've been giving Adam too much time/resources/energy.

But what is "mufukch school"? It may be better to wait on the move till you finish that, whatever it is.

Sounds like they're planning to make life a lot more fun.

poor Adam. dumping him even made the top of the list.
I hope he deserves it, and it's not just part of her plan for "an all new better life" i.e; "lose weight, finish school, then trade up to a new better spouse"

oh, I also like how "volunteer" is at the end of the list. like "oh and after I do all that other stuff, maybe find time to help people".

and that this to do list is written on a tablet advertising "Depakote" a drug used to treat things like bipolar disorder and depression.
was it just the only paper she(assuming it's a she) had at hand to write on? or is this her plan to fix her life now that she's on the mediation she needs?

Whoo, steady now. One thing at a time! Good to have some targets though.

I fear she is on a mood upswing and is in danger of getting too high -- after which the only way is down.

Keep taking those tablets...

**Lose down to 150 or below** Is that lose 150 lbs or get weight down to 150 lbs or lower?

SHITE! If I were to lose 150lbs, I'd weigh -20 lbs!!!!

Depakote- isn't that a song by the Penny Dreadfuls? Or is it Broom?

don't go chasin' waterfalls, baby. Stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to.

I thought the same thing Baby Basil did: if she dumps Adam (and all the energy that is likely applied to Adam and all their community property issues) her other goals will probably be more easily attinable.

Maybe. Who knows.

Some of these things can be accomplished fairly quickly (move, dump Adam, see(?) a waterfall), while others will take a little bit of time (lose weight, train for a 1/2 marathon, graduate). I hope she doesn't think she will get all these things done in a timely manner, because she's setting herself up for a big (water)fall!

Depakote says it's used for bipolar, epilepsy and migraine headaches. I think bipolar and epilepsy are a lot less common than migraines, so stastically that'd be our best bet of why she was prescribed this.

Either way, if she's suffering from any of those 3 disorders it's an ambitious list and I really feel like she has a strong mindset to get her life in order. It's very matter of fact, but in that sense shows she means business.

If Adam is such a downer that dumping him is on the top of the "to do" list, then WHY is his name written up above the base line established by the word "dump"? See how his name floats up there? Sort of happily and "up"?

Maybe she still likes Adam.

But if HE is the one with bi-polar epileptic migraines, then maybe SHE's finally deciding to leave him so that she can get on with all the things she's been putting off while nursing him between episodes.

"bipolar, epilepsy and migraine headaches" - what an interesting triad of disorders that can be cured with just one pill! Better living through chemistry I tells ya.

This looks like some of my summer to-do lists:exercise, preread for next school year, lose weight, go to the art gallery, go on a trip, be a better person, and so on.

Mostly I just watch TV.

Perhaps she should pay attention in class and try to learn Spanish, guitar and typing while still in school.

I think people who weigh 150 pounds can definitely run. Depends on how tall they are. 150 can be a healthy weight for someone 5'7"-5'9" if the person is fit. Muscle weighs more than fat.

I wonder how big Adam is... maybe 150 lbs? That would explain a lot of the rest of the list:

1. Finish school so she can change her name and not be traced through classmates.com.
2. Move - for the same reason as #1.
3. Improve her running skills so she can get away after dumping Adam over Niagara Falls.
4. Volunteer to join the community search team looking for the man who went missing and is presumed to have gone over the falls.
5. Go to Europe to live incognito as a Flamenco guitarist until she finds a need to type another list with "Eiffel" instead of "waterfall."

Probably, she's a nurse or receptionist at a doctor's office. My mother in law's desk is full of stationary, pens, picture frames, tissue boxes and such given away as freebies by the drug reps.

This "Mufukin" school must be in Japan. Clearly this individual wants to move to Europe. Spain would be the logical destination, given the rest of the list. Off to the Pyrenees!

FWIW I originally read that as "lose clown to ISO -something-". That seems funnier, anyway. Is their humour ISO 9001 compliant? Do they adhere to ISO 22000 when dealing with creampies?

Depakote? That shit put 60 pounds on me in two months. The doctors thought that was less important that controlling the mania. From 140 to 200 pounds like wildfire.

I support you, fellow mental patient. Make your lists, set some goals. Keeps you from perseverating on the darkness.

But Adam? Shit or get off the pot. He's good for you or not, and you know it.

brain problem situation in my head
I'm with Former Dayroom Groupie. Depakote sucks ass, big time. I took it for migraines and it didn't do a damn thing but make me fat. There are newer and more effective drugs out there for epilepsy and migraines. Depakote is more frequenlty prescribed as a mood stabilizer, nowadays.

@ dayroom and brain problem.
Yah, my spouse was prescribed depakote to clip off tantrums (threatened all kinds of wierd things when triggered), and despite how bad off she was, when we read the side effects list we just left the bottle on the shelf. Nasty stuff. Marijuana is more effective and safe.

@ Mufuk in: I started training for a marathon at 177# and could not run a mile. I weighed 147# when I ran the race about 16 weeks later and I ran the whole thing. I can assure you that while I was not fast, I WAS running, even when >150#.

Many races have a division for larger people. Women over 160# are called "Bonnies" or "Athenas", and men over 200# are "Clydes". Women >160# who can run a marathon or complete a triathlon may not be petite or exude femininity in the classis sense, but they DO exude "STRONG". DO not mess with an Athena.

If you omit the word "Mufukin" and substitute "Andy" for "Adam", I have done or seen all these things, so I think its a pretty great list. No Depakote needed.

@ Indy... shhh... I'm just about to start mufukin grad school and I have a list to do too!

I have learn Spanish, steel drum AND guitar, and lose down to 130 or less... Silly desk job and classes are keeping me from those goals. I should just drop both and become a hobo till I've finished the important stuff.

However, I definitely read "move" as "mare" and I was worried about what she was going to do with it...

"Can people over 150 run?" Dear child--have you never seen a fullback run? They can, and do. It's not about weight, it's about agility.
There's a difference between 150 lbs of flab, and the same weight in well-tuned muscle. If you're 6 ft tall or so, 150 isn't much.

To make the list just a little more manageable she should combine some stuff up. The weight loss and marathons go hand in hand as pointed out, but she could also move into a volunteer monkey sanctuary at the foot of a waterfall in Europe, and that would pretty effectively deal with Adam. She could also just opt to learn Spanish guitar, rather than the two separate activities.

It might make things easier if she drops the 150 lbs, and THEN tries to move. Although if she's too large to move, it might take more than losing just 150.

I like that this list is written on a Depakote piece of paper. And for the record, depakote is also used to treat epilepsy. It's pretty effective for seizures; my dad has been taking it for awhile now. It's not just medicine for bipolar disorder-my sister has that and depakote was never even considered as a medication for her.

I was struck by how much this reminded me of myself, especially one year ago. Oddly enough I actually "actioned" all of them. But unfortunately for decoding purposes the two biggest mysteries - undumpable Adam and the unfathomable Waterfall - were not on my list.
