We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
Hooking up phrases and clauses to make complex sentences is exhausting...to read.
Elementary school is tough when you learn how to be an accessory to a crime on the first day.
I wonder why he or she decided to write this down, and what interrupted him or her.
S/he'll learn...you don't HAVE to be friends with people you don't like, or who turn out to be different than you thought. Particularly in grade school. Just tell em they've got cooties. Or that you have.
Lots of self-criticism here for one so young. Being from Salt Lake City, this could be a report to the Bishop? Maybe s/he got caught after all and was asked to explain?
28 x 15 again. Boring. Almost as boring as searching for the link in the email everytime I want to contribute...but less time consuming to just do the math. (And no, I can't remember every time.)
Sounds like some writing from English class, in response to a book or newspaper article about a kid who got caught stealing. "Write a piece from the point of view of John. How did he get into the situation?"
Sounds like the beginning of a short story...
this find just leaves us in suspense! how does it end? do they get caught? does our hero find some better friends? and most of all how does one "steel", does it have something to do with metal working? or is that slag for going to a Steelers game?
"deffenently not the kind of friends you would wan't to have"
this kid is apostrophe-crazy. but more likely, just LD.
must be the end of august. time to go back.
@Lars: Not just LD, but in Salt Lake, probably LDS, too.
Poor mite.
This sounds to me like someone describing a dream.
Does LDS mean LD plural? Multiple LDs in one kid or multiple kids who have LD?
Must be an essay written to a probation officer: Why I Am Sorry For What I Did
This looks like 3rd grade handwriting to me. If so, this 8-9 year old child writes and spells very, very well for his/her age.
I wonder where exactly Michelle found this in Utah.
I wonder what Chris wanted to steel.
Ruh-roh?
Clover, LDS means a person of the faith of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. aka Mormon, though some find that term vaguely offensive.
It's a big church in Utah and in some ways very similar to Catholocism, except it's a much MUCH younger religion and they have some extra ..additions? to the bible.
It is interesting, if this is a letter to the Bishop. I wonder how it was found - in what context? in a school playground? on the front step of an apartment building? perhaps, if it was a letter to the bishop, it was dropped on the way into church?
Someone teach this kid how to use a comma.
*gasp* pant, pant
Phew - ran out of breath, reading that! Must get reading silently down...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!
MAKE IT STOP!!!
Dude!
Are they talking about Superman (aka the Man of Steel)or are they going out to make some Moonshine (in a still)?
Abs of steel, pecs of steel, thighs of steel ... this new "friend" clearly wants the new kid to get into the steroid habit and "go steel." Don't do it kid! You'll be caught come Olympics time!!
Let's not forgot Steel, starring Shaquille O'Neal.
LDS is similar to Catholicism??????????????????????????????????? About the only similarity is their faithful tend to have large families... but even the reasoning behind THAT is completely different...
Very exhausting to read! But great handwriting.
wondering: the hierarchies of the two religions are set up quite similarly, among other (more controversial?) things.
In title alone, they both have priests (then again, so did the Aztecs) and bishops, but those titles mean very different things. As for 'other' things, they have VASTLY, VASTLY, VASTLY disparate theologies. Not intending to disrespect either (or any!) religion - they are just very dissimilar!
From my reading of LDS and RLDS (old Missouri branch, since defunct) history, in their beginnings they had a lot of issues against Catholicism--saw it as trying to take over the world for Rome.
I guess it's true what they say--you become what you fear.
