This photo is one of many images pasted into a copy of "The Sea of Cortez" coffee table book I came across. The book is riddled with information detailing "The Rare Birds'" annual journey down south. Included: fishing pictures, a page of Rare Bird signatures, and a full description of their 1973 trip. I want to be a Rare Bird!

Hey, we're an improv comedy group called "The Rare Bird Show." We have a link to this photo. It's perfect. We're 2 guys and a girl. We'd love any further Rare Bird stuff. Wouldn't it be weird if the page with the signatures had our names?

I love how they are both wearing plaid jackets. It's just sooo classy, hahaha.

Dude, I think this is Beavis's Dad and Grandpa. You can just see the fingers of his Uncle Frank in the lower right hand corner. Not that I'm EVEN looking at the dudes. Dude!

I actually know that painting! Thought there are perhaps others like it. It (or another identical painting) now hangs in my friend's house in Atlanta. But nonetheless, AMAZING coincidence.

I liked him better as Henry Rush in that that show Too Close for Comfort.. remember? The dad was a cartoonist who created Cosmic Cow... and they had that flaming neighbor, Monroe. That was so long ago I didn't even know what gay was, let alone that Monnroe was gay. I thought he was sooooo cute!
Henry Rush was much funnier than Ted Baxter. Maybe it's a generational thing, though.
I would love to read a transcript of the details of their 1973 trip! Come on, Debbie! We can't get enough of the Rare Birds!
