We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I always feel sorry for the ponies
The child is scared. Or about to smack the pony.
... or waving...
Why are you so negative?
i think he doesnt want his picture taken! most people who dont place their hands over their faces like that and then wonder why all pictures of them are so bad
i think someone asked him how old he is and he's indicating his age
i think that he is trying to give someone a high 5.. maybe he was scared to get on the pony.. and needs a little reassurance
i think he has really bad perception and thought he was waving and smiling at the camera but really, his crippling disability caused him to miss the camera entirely
damn paparazzi !!
He learned this from his mother. "Let me get ready, first"
Remember when John Lennon said that "Woman
is the n----r of the world". Now, after seeing this live pony evidentally tied to that swingset, I can say that "Ponies are the n---er of the world".......
If this was taken in Austin, I rode that pony (circa 1950) where the Jack In The Box is at S. Lamar and Barton Springs Rd.
cute shirt!
"Talk to the hand!"
This picture is classic! That kid sure is keeping his eye on the trail.
What a beautiful, unusual donkey!
Crisis, I think someone showed you a picture of a donkey at an impressionable age....
Its not a swingset, it's an auto-walker. It's not a donkey, it's a pony. And I'm pretty sure the child is a girl.
...and I'm 70% certain I owned that pony at one point in my life.
I could swear that's my neighbor's pony, Troll, that my daughter used to ride. And there's no way that child in the photo is a girl.
Damn paparazzi!Respect my privacy! (kiddo says;))
This shot is amazing, something deep about it. f it wasn't for the hints of purple I don't think it would be that interesting really.
If I found anything this amazing in my dirt pile/garage/life I would be over the moon. It's also why Polaroid will never die out (or the concept at least).
I like how the kid's foot doesn't quite reach the stirrup(s), which would suggest the pony is used to larger passengers?!
This photo really is amazing. is somehow grasps the innocence, excitement, and confusion of childhood. the fact that it is a poloroid that has been worn and muddied by age and mistreatment acts as a metaphor for life in general and what it does to the child inside everyone. ahh its too awesome. words just cant even describe it. no matter how hard i try.
i'm glad i have an iphone...i saved the pic and put it as my wallpaper :]
I agree with Bored and grounded.
It totally amazes me how photos that would once be good only for the trash can, now appear to me as art. This is due to Found. Art changes and view of the world changes. The Impressionists helped people see light with new eyes. Photography changed the way people paint, and also gave people new ways of looking at the world. Now photographic discards speak to us in metaphor; details that would be cropped out tell a story of their own, and the rules of eye-pleasing composition are tossed out the window.
