We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
I'd say yes -- it looks like they tried to eat the paper!

I think someone was trying to talk themselves into going to work that day. I know I've had conversations like this with myself.
Since there's no question mark, I'd say this is not a question but a statement. It was probably tagged to some leftovers in the fridge as an information to fellow family members or concubines to prevent them from throwing them away or eating them.
The damaged part of this note looks like an Ewok to me. Am I insane? Wait, strike that question. What do you folks think it looks like?

Must have been a practice note, which later would have been written on a piece of cardboard, and the write would have stood out at an intersection, waiting for those kind city-folk to hand out food or money.

If this sentence isn't a question then the emphasis is on the "I". Do I like to eat. I think it might have been taped to a fat kids jacket, as stated earlier. Or someone who enjoys writing one sentence notes about things they like or think about.

First thing I thought was, "eating disorder?" It sounds like it was written by someone in a lethargic mood--someone with an eating disorder, wondering if they really do like to eat. Most people do. Even anorexics. I was borderline anorexic 2 years ago and I knew I liked food just like everyone else. Maybe this person is trying to convince his/herself that he/she doesn't really like to eat, when in reality, he/she does like to eat.
