Alterations in Fluid Volume
FOUND by Robert W.C. Kennedy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
I found this while walking my dog near some of the many drinking establishments on Milwaukee's east side. (Everything is found while walking your dog.) It s written on the back of a 3 x 5 card. My first reaction was that this would make a great band name or album title. Then I thought about the possibilities... Could these've been doctor's orders? Instructions for an automobile repair? A helpful flashcard for a recovering alcoholic? Or was it a message to my dog as he urinated on a nearby parking meter?

This is a technical term in nursing-ese; it's a 'nursing diagnosis' and it requires a 'nursing intervention' - there's a whole bunch of them and as a recent nsg student I can imagine what the rest of the index cards said. Did you find any cards reading Disturbed Sleep Pattern or Risk for Spiritual Distress??? Or perhaps Impaired Swallowing or Ineffective Breathing Pattern?? Same project...mystery solved.

Yes, and because you were on the east side you were also right by Saint Mary's Hospital.

Nurse will make it better
Well, you guys just sucked all the fun right out of it, didn't you?

I must offer many Kudos to the Finder, because that's one awesome Finder's Blurb he wrote! (How many names do you have, Robert W.C.? Or is the WC some sort of reference to "water closet" and therefore a reference to an alteration in fluid volume?)

Hooray for Indie Film!!!

On another, pretty much unrelated note: does anyone else remember that mid-70's movie "Nurse Will Make it Better"?

It was a Wednesday Mystery of the Week, and it was from around the same time as Rock-a-Die Baby. C-c-creeeeepy!

...recognized this right away! It's a nursing diagnosis. It's really an exercise in futility for a nursing student, but still a requirement, so you have to know what this means.
Obviously this was someone's study card or cheat sheet for a test.
I've been a nurse for many years now and...Still hate care plans!
