Love Always
FOUND by Stuart Loone in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
I found this note today while clearing out our new house. Hope Mezza's OK and that it all worked out.

Don't you think if he really cared about Jayne, he'd take the time to spell out words like "for" and "too" and "you"? - Mecca sounds like an idiot to me - I hope she didn't bother calling him and just let Mecca keep walking.

Mecca is a WOMANS name. the other commentors apparently were unaware. but it does make the note more interesting

i think they're sisters. that's what i think.

no way -they aren't sisters. "i meant everything i said - i love you" isn't something a sister would say to another sister, it sounded like it was the first time mecca said it. and i agree with rasnew414 - isn't michelle worth those extra letters?

I tend to agree with Stuart that it's "Mezza." Mezza, half in Italian. Mezza, appetizer in Arabic. Mezza voce, sung with restraint. Mezzanine, between two floors. It seems somehow appropriate. Perhaps Mezza was the middle child. I share the fantasy that Jayne is her slightly older, more acerbic sister.

4 u naysayers, Mecca was obviously 2 upset to worry about writing out entire words (and possibly was 1 big Prince fan?)

Maybe your current house came onto the market because of this letter.

I see Merra.

I think it's Mezza. But regardless of that, it's definately a girl writing. I love the way she changed what she was going to say and opted for 'i love you' instead. She seems a bit clingy to me though. I can just imagine her overly-dramatic proffessions of love...

Jules, I beg to differ. Close sisters say "I love you" all the time. (They also occasionally hurt each other's feelings.)

I think I've actually said "I meant what I said and I love you" to one or all of my sisters at some point in our lives.

Gin in Tonic
This could be two 8th grade girls who had a really big fight - maybe Jayne hooked up with the guy Mezza/Merra/Mecca had a crush on? Girls in middle school (especially 7th and 8th grade) can get really overly dramatical about their friends and fights (I know I was one of them!). My theory :)

i agree with gin in tonic... although it seems like a pretty grown up argument, the handwriting doesn't really add up.

Great. Now I have that goddamn REO Speedwagon song stuck in my head.

I like Chas' theory on this note best.

It's definitely "Mezza" The guy's last name began with a "Merri..." (I don't want to give his whole surname here). It's an Australian colloquialism to abbreviate names, and sometimes add a "z" or "zza". Hence "Muzza" for Murray, "Daz" for Darren, "Bazza" for Barry, "Loz" for Laura. In this one, he's "Mezza" from "Launnie" (Launceston)...
