Prone to periodic bouts of depression, I often visit Bark Park in an effort to lift my spirits. The dogs are always happy and the sunshine has Vitamin D and I never feel claustrophobic there. Recently, this photocopied offer appeared tacked to the cork bulletin board in the leashing and unleashing decompression area near the dog runs. "El Guapo" haunts me now and has, in fact, become my muse.

That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while! The Infamous El Guapo. He's more than famous. He's IN-famous.

i don't know if this is an ad, or just a desperate attempt to get a shy dog laid. he might be a rude dog, like triumph the comic dog. maybe his owners got tired of him humping throw pillows and pimp him out. after all, he is in it for the love of puppies.
Yikes, am I the only one slightly upset by this poster? Stinks of irresponsible backyard breeding. There are enough homeless dogs running around, as cute as he may be. Adopt a pet from Louisiana or something.
That said, I do get the funnyness etc.

I especially like the cocky tilt to his head - kind of a "whatchoo lookin' at?" surly attitude. Excellent touch!

I just love El Guapo! Every time I come to this site and see his face, I get a rush of happiness for no reason that I can discern. He's just magical. If I were a bitch, I'd want El Guapo to father my litter!
This is one of my favorite finds. El Guapo also sits on my desktop. He is perfect in every way. I'm sure he wines and dines his bitches before procreating. I think I'm going to make a shirt out of this...

El guapo is an uncharismatic slob. his real name is Chad, and lives in a trailerpark in Bumblescum, TN. Much like internet predators, he trolls the parks looking for puppies to love, no strings attached.
I can't believe only one other person is bothered by this. Of course, I bet none of you work at the local animal shelter. But why don't you call them up and see how many dogs they put to sleep yesterday, due to idiots like this. Don't breed or buy while shelter pets die. Spay and neuter. Dying in a small dark gas chamber is actually very painful and takes about 20 minutes. But it's cheap. THOUSANDS of dogs every DAY are killed that way. Guapo's owner is an idiot.

This poster is also up in my area grocery store, and I'm a FAR bit away from Costa Mesa. I'm in KY! Makes me wonder if "El Guapo" is making long distance visits, or maybe has a twin, or ????

I'm usually the one thinking "lighten up!" when I read comments like this one on the boards, but irresponsible breeding (human or animal) pisses me off.
Im with B and Junky on this one. Yet another owner who doesn't understand the importance of neutering dogs and who anthropormorphises and projects their own desperation for sex onto their unfortunate pet.
Yet more unwanted, crossbred puppies to end up getting drowned, gassed or hit by cars. Tragic.

ummm... am i the only1 who noticed theirs no number to call? idiots. if ur going to overpopulate the earth like china only w/ dogs, at least make it look like ur smart!!! all those poor puppies r going to end up in my science classroom, in mexico, or in micheal vick's living room. or heaven, depends on if u believe don bluth or not. i wudnt though... this is horrid thats all i can say. OK, the person ranting about El Guapo's owner not being smart and using letters and numbers instead of words makes theirself sound so much better. Are you sure you and El Guapo's Papi aren't related?
More horrible sadness, I hope the finder (??) takes down all of the posters that say this.
Neuter your dogs please. "For the love of puppies"... yeah okay... so many things wrong here...
Yeah, it's irresponsible, but hilariously so. But it's not like the person is allowing "El Guapo" to roam around knocking up the neighborhood bitches, I think (s)he is trying his/her hand at being a breeder. Nonetheless, spay or neuter your pets, and always make sure the breeder and the dog(s) you deal with are registered with the American Kennel Club.

OMG! looks like the dog from the "my best friend" section of Found mag......maybe they got tired of looking at his charred balls and having the nerve to smile about it.
I'm definitely be irritated if this ad were meant to be real, but I doubt it is. First, the fact that there's no way to contact "El Guapo," and second, that someone said the same sign was seen in Kentucky, both seem to say that it's some sort of internet joke or something. Gross irresponsibility aside, it is pretty funny.

El Guapo* means "the Handsome" or "the Ladies' Man" aside from the bad karma to be heaped upon the irresponsible pet owner, this Find will never cease to amuse me.
(*or it's a villain from Three AMigos, or it's a comic book character and a member of the superhero team X-Statix. Gotta Love Wiki.)
