Backwards Card
FOUND by Rachel Masilamani
This is one of those backwards (opens on the left) cards that kids make. I found it in the spring of 2003 in the children's picture book section. I like how it does double duty as a Valentine and a conversational note.

What's so perfect about this is that the effort depicted by both parties explains their whole affair. It's a visual depiction of the imbalance they feel for each other. She (?) (the one on the left) should just smack herself in the face with this note whenever she asks that question again.

It's not backwards if the kid who made it was Japanese.

Oh wow, for some reason I assumed that a girl had said no to a guy. Looking at the writing, that seems exactly backwards.

It appears that, in response to her sunshine, flowers, hugs, and kisses, he responded with a single cloud. doomed.

All I can think about is that Simpsons episode where Bart writes love letters to Mrs Crabapple and then decides he has to let her down easily. Homer keeps repeating "Three little words. I. Am. Gay." I think that this was the excuse Marge offered instead.
