It's Not Fair March 07, 2004 |
We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
It's not the ring that's infected, it's your nose. Hope it's not MRSA.
What's the "RTB" coolness factor?
Maybe they should've taken better care of it so it wouldn't get infected "yet again"
Oh the Folly of youth. Whatever "coolness" factor there is in a nose ring (one in an infected puncture wound, no less) is far offset by eeeewwwww factor. Even more deserving of a "there, there, dear" is the notion that this appears to be some sort of poetic exercise. What were the others like?
One would think that s/he would just take it out if it is 'yet again' infected.
But wait! The coolness factor makes up for the crusty, gross nose infection. (:
Considering the proximity of icky, germy boogers, I've never been able to comprehend how nose rings could ever NOT be infected.
I'm with shaking my head... eeeeewwwww. Yick.
I hope Maynard has submitted the other poetic type notes from his Found binder.
RTB coolness factor? Riding the Bus? (not considered "cool" generally speaking, but hey- the factor's been upped at least four whole notches!
Thanks, infected nosering urban poet person! (Ontario.. Ontario.. hmm.. who could it be?)
RTB = right to brag
RTB = real tough bitch
RTB = red, tender, bloated
all possibilities, except that I think it's actually KTB (the descender on the y in the line above makes it appear to be an R)
What's the first word in the last line? "skoved"??
and did this morning's Find disappear?
Rough and Tumble Badass!
How does infection increase one's coolness factor?
RTB- "Riding the bus" lol!
@ Librarian
I think it says "shoved" as in "this infected ring shoved right through my nostril."
@ embracing: RTB = riding the bus - lol I'm going with that one!
Ahem ...so how is the Prince Albert/Albertina healing up?
Required librarian reference:
"Riding the Bus With My Sister: A True Life Journey" by Rachel Simon. NY: Houghton Mifflin, 2002. ISBN: 0618045996
one of those touching, heart-warming stories
I wonder if there are any haikus in that binder:
oozing infection
coolness factor rising, but...
still riding the bus
Right to brag actually sounds like that's what RTB would stand for. "The right-to-brag coolness factor..."
And I agree that it might be the start of some poem considering the binder had a few other poems in it.
@ Lost
How about...
Infection makes me
Wish I had not pierced my nose
With a rusty nail.
Proboscis piercing
Is not for the faint of heart.
But I'm so cool now.
Mom said not to, but
I have punctured my nose and
Now it is swelling
Yahoo...my first Found posting. The other items in the binder were submitted to Found and are similar to this one. Starving student type complaints. Maybe in time they will be posted also.
this was gross!
I have my septum pierced and it's never been infected. I think the writer is doing it wrong.
I wonder if my nipple will get infected. I had it pierced last week.
I think piercing in general is icky. But I LOVE this handwriting. I'm going to ask the font queen to send it to me.
Hey Maynard, thanks for submitting this. I hope to see more of your Finds in the future!
Awesome haiku!
@Feeling: beautiful haikus. "mom said not to"- hilarious.
I love the handwriting on this.
I'm gonna go blow my nose now. 'Cause I can.
@ fooch, as long as you take proper care it should be fine. I've had mine pierced for over 2 years without a problem ;)
I still don't understand the "rtb" though
This person should stop picking their nose
