We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
This post card is so sad. I really believe that he has the best intentions in turning the kids over. I wonder why he couldn't care for them any more? I hope it wasn't drinking or drugs. If anything I imagine that the mob or a loan shark were the reason he had to give them up it sounds like a less serious problem than addition.
Yes, so very sad. I wish him & his family all the best. Peace, Joseph
maybe "the boys" is a casual way to refer to their two male pets (dogs, cats, or lizards)?
Yes,Neil..... "addition" is a terrible problem. But then again, so is multiplication.
This is the saddest thing I have seen in a while. I hope if he does get them back, he has taken care of the reason he gave them up. Tony and Linda must love them a bunch to take on the responsibility, and that's so hard on kids... trying to adjust to the drama that dad is causing.
Ouch! Delivered via postcard, no less...
I wonder what the front of the post card looks like.
The post card was not mailed. I wonder if he was writing it to his deceased wife...he can no longer care for the boys on his own. Tony and Linda must be a couple they were close with, that she would trust with the care of her children. He's doing the right thing. The sad part is that he lovED them...past tense.
Yeah? lovED them, what does this person plan on doing to themselves?
Why are most of you assuming it is a guy that wrote this?
That was a good idea Suzanne about the deceased wife but I think all S/he is trying to communicate with "loveD" is that s/he tried to take care of them. The person probably still loves them. I'll bet either Tony is a brother or Linda is sister of either Cathy or the author.
Wow. Like everybody else, one of the most heartwrenching finds I've seen on here in a while.
Wait, I'll prove I'm a loser by writing my message on the address half of the postcard.
Judging from the text in the upper left, the other side of the post card features the lovely, picturesque Port of Tacoma.
Sadly, Tacoma has seen more than its fair share of crack and meth abuse.. my guess would be that drugs are at the heart of the problem. (as much as I would hope it's not so) I hope the author of the note got it together enough to get the family back together.
Wow, that is sad. He did the best that he could. But I wonder why it wasn't enough. Why couldn't cathy help?
I wonder if he signed the boys over via quitclaim deed. If so, I hope he got some money. Otherwise, the grantee is gonna be paying some gift tax (the amount depends on the value of the boys at the time of the transaction).
Sorry. I used to work for a real estate lawyer. I can't help it.
Ouch... sorry 'bout yer baaaad luck! Not sure if this is a guy or a girl actually. Notice that there is a copyright for the photo of Tacoma, WA by "Kyle Smith". I'd like to see the photo. At the bottom of this link http://www.forks-web.com/fg/kalaloch.htm is a credit for another photo by Kyle S Smith in the Tacoma area. Interesting. I just like to do the detective work on these Finds. Or speculate at least.
This really pulled at my heart strings...So Sad!!
