Patriotic Waterskiing
FOUND by Claire in In a Grant Park gutter, Atlanta, GA
Wow. A three-tier waterskiing formation complete with American flags! Pretty amazing.

"But what if the flags fall in the water?" Sam had asked, and Gina said, "We'd never let the flags fall in the water." So they formed a pyramid and water skied with their flags, but suddenly the moon turned orange and its light was very distracting, and Gina dropped one of the flags.

@ Clover: it's great, isn't it? Looks like the photographer was on a riverboat when this was taken. This picture reminded me of another Find. In my mind, I'm seeing one man waterskiing holding a flag.

In my search for that Find, I got hijacked to one of my all-time favorites, "Hippo Boat". With 124 comments, in August of 2007, that Find epitomizes the peak popularity of this website, in my opinion.

After spending 30 minutes re-reading those comments, it got me thinking about why Found doesn't get near as many comments as it did in the past. (I've thought about this phenomenon a lot.)

Among many other theories, the thing that struck me most after reading the comments from "Hippo Boat" was the sense of community that Found used to enjoy. You actually had a sense of getting to know your fellow commenters, whether you liked their comments or not. You looked forward to what they had to say from day to day. It wasn't so competitive to have the wittiest one-liners, while ignoring everyone else. I guess it's the comraderie I miss.

That might be Mars up in the sky. Sometimes it's so bright they say you can see the red planet by day.

Chrome Toaster in the shallow end of the gene pool
Has anyone ever done this? (participated in waterskiing tricks/shows?) I haven't even seen a water skiing show, but I did manage to successfully waterski ONCE. For about four minutes.

How difficult must it be for that chick at the top of the stack to clamber UP there? (and stay up!) How much weight is on the two dudes in the middle? If one goes down, do they all go down? To be honest, this picture scares the doodly doots out of me.

They had a show like this at Cypress Gardens in Florida in the '80s.
