We collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework,
to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles -
anything that gives a glimpse into someone
else's life. Anything goes...
To his credit, that is a good CD.
The last part is scrawled pretty sloppily. I wonder if it was a last minute addition? Our of desperation, perhaps? Don't know why they thought that would increase their chances of getting their CD back.
At any rate, someone forgot the magic word: Please.

I've written this note before, except mine wasn't for a Thursday cd, it was Incubus; I didn't end it with "you little bitch," I signed it with "get fucked four eyes!" I wish I'd hung onto the notes my former pals wrote to me like this.

Hilarious. The lead singer of the band Thursday is an acquaintance of mine -- I'm going to e-mail him now and make sure he sees this. I think he'll appreciate it!
This is clearly a note that my brother would have written to me if i ever had his thursday CD. These people have to be related!
I love how the handwriting devolves from orderly irritation to scrawling hatred in just 8 words. I bet it sums up the entire relationship between these 2 people.
Why would you loan such a bitch anything, especially a cd? The mystery may never be revealed. Besides, who loans the original copy of a cd (if you happen to own a hard copy and not purely an mp3 version) and not a burned copy? Pfft. This person is clearly an amateur cd-loaner.

After a breakup, I returned some possessions (including a CD the guy had loaned me) by putting them in his car, and he in turn put the CD back in my car with a post-it note that said sweetly, "Please keep this. I ordered another for myself." The author of this note was obviously NOT still feeling the love...if this note was left in a car, it was surrounded by broken glass from the bashed in windshield.
Thursday is a crappy band, she can keep the cd. Thursdays mediocrity is only surpassed by Incubus'.

i imagine the kid s/he loaned the cd to broke it in half after listening to and realizing that thursday is one of the worst bands in the galaxy

Back on the note though, its obviously fourteen year old boys trading this cd back and forth. I'm surprised its not signed with a racial epithet or gay slur.

"Mediocre" is far too diplomatic a description, if you ask me. I'd be more inclined to call it vomit-inducing horse shit. I can't comment on Thursday, as I've never heard them. I'm sure I'd hate it though.

This kid likes to "mosh" a lot at our shows. His name is "little chip" and there's at least one of him in every city. You gotta love "little chip", he's a real sweet kid.

oooh. This note hits home for me! My brother just left for the treeplanting season and he called me from about four hours away with my Drive By Truckers CD playing in the background and then again with my Rainer Maria! That little bitch is dead meat in the gutter when he gets back.
I love how the beginning starts off quite strong but when it gets to "little bitch" the writing is a lot feebler. As if the person was scared to write naughty words...I can just imagine a little friend gasping, "You said the B-word!"

I don't see this as a necessarily nasty note. I know lots of people that call each other bitch as a kind of term of endearment so to speak. Strange but true.
How is it that all breakups seem to come down to "gimme back my CDs!"? What is it about a $20.00 CD, which usually can be easily replaced-I suggest they symbolize more. Maybe the part of me that i brought into this, you enjoyed it, but I'm taking it back. It's the tangible pleasure you gave them--the emotional and other goodies can't be taken back?
