Hi From A Post-It
FOUND by Jen in Atlanta, Georgia
I found the post-it in the stairway in my apartment building. I don't know who it was meant for, or if they saw it, but to me it says a lot even though all she wanted to say was "hi".
KH in a state of euphoria
I think Danielle has a crush on the guy in apartment 2C.

Danielle definitely wants to say a good deal more than just "hi" (the top of the J, the D in wanted) she's exercizing some great restraint in keeping this so breif. there is great hope for the recovery of great loss behind this pink post it (the awkard unsure heart). or at least for some closure, some assurance that she's the only one still wanting.

It'll be okay, Danielle.

I love these kinds of notes. They always make the day a little better :) The pink paper and purple pen really add a nice touch to the message. Danielle sure knows how to leave a nice 'hi' note.

Eggs1234 in the Psychologist's Office, Horizontal on the Couch, Pondering the Reasons for My Actions
My dear Danielle, how I wish you would have knocked harder. I was firing up my heart-shaped Jacuzzi, pouring out some fine bubbly, lighting candles, and just hoping that you would stop by. And you did. And I didn't hear you. Sigh.

And You just wanted to say hi. And I just wanted to say I love you.

This reminds me of the good old days before cell phones. When you wanted to see someone, you just went by their house.

The exclusion of an exclamation point on the "hi" leads me to believe that Danielle came by to see someone that probably doesn't love her anymore (she thinks). So she takes the logical next step which is to go home, feed the cats, dive into a nice bottle of Boone's Country Farm, get on the internet, look at some trivial websites until deciding NOW is a great time to send him that e-mail. This is what I do every Friday.

Aww! Precious! Completely precious! If more people left sweet little notes like this to people, even strangers that happen to see it in the stairway, the world would definitely be a better place.

This is creepy and sweet and reminds me of PostSecret. If I lived in Atlanta, I could have written this. Danielle is a stalker. If I lived in Atlanta, I would be a stalker. More people should be nice like this. At least she spelled "hi" right.

Am I the only one who's worried that Jen took this down too soon before the person who was ment to see it saw it??? And now Danielle thinks he/she hates her??

This reminds me of the time I needed my kitchen sink fixed. <Apartment>. I had had a horrible day at work and when I got home, there was a yellow post it on the faucet with a smiley face and the words OK written on it. It so made my evening and weekend! Little things big wonders!

I bet Danielle is a college student. That was the only era of my life where I actively surrounded myself with Post-Its, and I'm going to take a leap and assume Danielle is the same way.

Odd Nick, i'm not judgeing (or judgening?) danielle, here. you do what you gotta do, even if what you gotta do is write post-its to erstwhile friends or lovers.

as far as notes being nice little things that can make someone's day. I prefer face to face day brighteners. i hug strangers.

I like how the heart has a spike sticking out of it. That's probably how Danielle is feeling after bottling up what she really wanted to say. Sometimes 'hi' is enough, but this note leads me to believe there was more to be said.

Tess in total awe of that girl
Danielle's motto is "never never never give up." I can tell...see the false start of the J at the top. She could have just said, "aw, shucks...I'm out of ink. Guess I won't get my HOO-HA buggered tonight." But no...she persisted and got the message out! Then she went the extra mile...risking the outage of ink...but completed the heart. Gawd, I love that girl...like my own daughter.

Half-hearted in the land of whole hearts
I love how the D of Danielle looks almost identical to the right-half of the heart, like the heart represented someone else's and the D in her name was all that was left, an errant little half-hearted half-heart. Danielle came over to get attention, to light up an old flame, and the find the other half of her heart, as if it got knocked off the Pink Post-it and sucked back up the purple pen, or jostled off the paper onto the floor, to be a lonely half heart evermore, spelling her name Danielle instead of what she really wanted to write, CDanielle.

Or maybe I'm just rambling.

All these comments about it being lovers kills me. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was the type of things my female friends write and do for each other. It really could have just been a nice note to someone that the note-giver never had any intention of sleeping with.

Oh, and all you judgenmental bitches:
I honestly and wholeheartedly appreciate your dedicated continuation of possibly the longest running joke on Found. However, if you do your research, one of the main funny parts of it is that the poster spelled the word judgeNmental, with the extra "n". Please try to keep the joke running the way it was meant to be.

I don't think the top of the J has much significance - I'm no graphologist, but I know I often start notes like that, where the pen doesn't work at the start so you have to scribble.

Not sure if the pink/purple combo is to impress a guy - maybe it was just a nice note for one of Dani's friends?

I had one of those on my monitor at my desk the other day. I wanted to keep it on there forever, but I put it in my drawer and look at it and wonder if he likes me.

How creepy

My "invisible" friend Danielle & I both live in the ATL. Yet I doubt this note was from her, she has much better penmanship and is not quiet so good at leaving short notes.
