George

All I want to know: what is the relevance of the pink socks? Socks, I understand, but pink ones?
Mandee in Detroit, Michigan
Sometimes, ya just like to wear specific socks. I know I do. :D

What's a "Delsym" (or is that an 'o')? And why is George on the list? Hope that's a big suitcase... or George is small. And stuffed. Legally. Never mind.

Maybe the pink socks are an important part of the uniform required to be worn at the "Main Event."
+ March 16, 2007 01:31 AM +
? in Are we missing the big picture here?
Doesn't that say "dead" right below "shirt/Tshirts??" Or is it "dead thank you notes?"

I think dead is supposed to be deod.. like deod(orant). I must admit I thought it was dead as well. I also thought that it said pimp socks.

I think instead of "dead" is says "deod", such as "deodorant"
I like this one.

I think that says deod. as in deoderant. That is what it means when I write it like that anyways.

I thought it said "dead" too, but I'm pretty sure is "deod." short for deoderant?

i think "dead" is really "deod" which could stand for "deodorant"

'deod' as in deodorant. On my list too -- just going out to buy some!! Nicely brought up person anyway, writing thank you notes...

I think it's deod, short for deodorant... I thought it was dead at first too. great find!

reading it again in logic
Delsym is a children's cough syrup, "dead" is actually deodorant. This person has a child who needs juice, pink socks, and maybe has a curious george toy that goes everywhere with them. Sounds like a fun party since they need film & thank you notes.

I think I need a "sweta" today too!
+ March 16, 2007 07:17 AM +

This is how I read it:

Claritin Pink Socks List of Peop.
Delsyum Mesh Basket Call People
Juice Can Wipes Call Main Event
George Battery
Sachin Film Roll
Shirt/T-Shirt
Deod.
Thank you Notes

By Peop. the list maker means people
and Deod. they mean deodorant

Both George ans Sachin are names so I will have to agree with Samantha in saying I hope they are small and legally stuffed.

Well, there is a mesh basket, clar(i)tin, pink socks, film, etc. I'm thinking the pink socks are to complete an easter outfit for someone, maybe a little girl?

Claritin is for the allergies, as it will be outside. The basket is to hold all the eggs, and the pink socks to go with a little girls dress.

Main Event is a big club here where you can host parties, so that explains "list of people." I think "deod" is deoderant. I am curious about George, Sachin, and this Sweta Ashley character though.

I don't know what half of these items are, but pink socks might have something to do with a costume for the main event? I know when I did Oddessy of the Minds (OM) I used to have to get really random items like one time I had peach colored knee high socks, so you never know!

Delsym is a OTC medication just like Claritin now is. Dude must be sick. Deod is an abbreviation for deoderant - I use the same abbrevation in my lists. However, my lists are never this strange. Maybe the pink socks & mesh basket are involved in some new party game I haven't heard about yet!

I love this find, I make lists a lot that don't make sense. However it doesn't say dead it says deod, for deodorant. I think that this person is making a list from a baby shower, thank you notes, list of people and pink socks could be for a girl! I guess we will never know for sure! :)

Being a compulsive listmaker myself - I love this find.
"Delsym" is a brand of cough syrup - OTC.
"Dead" I think is an abbrev. for "Deodorant."
My gut feeling is that there is a new baby or perhaps a child's birthday coming up....hence calling "Main Event" which could be a party planning place.
That would also explain the need for "Thank you notes" and "list of people," "film", "Battery" (for camera.)
The "can (of) wipes", "shirts/t-shirts" and "juice" could all also be for a child or baby...thus, the "pink socks" for this event.
What I want to know about is:
what is/why "George" and "Sachin" and "Call Sweta Ahsley...oh wait...maybe it's short hand for "Call Ashley about 'sweater'...?"
Sorry to pick this apart sooo much...like I said - I love lists. It's a way of life for me.

I think "dead" is actuall "deod"= deoderant....I picture a girl packing for a dance recital. Of course she'd need the PINK socks.

Main Event is similar to Dave & Busters, or various other large corporate chains of arcades. They've got bowling, laser tag, and all sorts of other shtuff. I don't believe pink socks are required though.

Interesting... I totally thought this was a shopping list at first glance... but I guess it could be a packing list as well... I think that it says "deod." like for deodorant instead of "dead" (this person seems to like abbreviations... see "peop." for "people")... haha... anyways... still a great find and a very intriguing list of seemingly random junk!

And why did they need reminded to take George? is he that forgetable?
+ March 16, 2007 10:39 AM +
Courtney in a state of confusion
I read "can wipes" and "pimp socks" which only makes sense considering the main event. I'm sure Sweta' Ashley will be appreciative.

(Sweta' as in sweater puppies or Sweaty?)

Ashley must really have a huge upper deck or sweat a lot to be referred to as Sweta. Maybe both? Either way it is now my new name for my boss - both applies.

I think "dead" is really deod. That's how I shorten deodorant on my lists. But what is Sachin? I think this poor list-maker is ill and busy. They need to go back to bed and get some rest.

I think this is for an outdoor debutant type coming out into society party. There's stuff for coughs and allergies, juice, deod. and oh what the hell.. who puts the guest list right smack in the middle? Oh well, everyone always forgets poor George and Sachin.

jeez, lots of 'uh, I think deod means deodorant' messages…OK GUYS, MESSAGE ASSIMILATED.

The pink socks are probably for a crazy madcap costume of some sort. I'm envisaging the mesh basket as a hat. Combined with pink socks, where could you possibly go wrong?
(Just pour the juice over yourself, dry yourself off with the car wipes, basket on head, socks on feet & you're ready to party).

Could Sachin be a shorthand way to write "Saccharin"? Maybe she has those in her drinks when hosting child parties...

Could they also be "car wipes", rather than "can wipes"? Not that I know what they are (I just thought that the "r" in "Car wipes" looked similar to the "r" in "battery"?). Perhaps they are to wipe the kid's sticky hands with on en route to the party... :-)

This looks very similar to how I make my to do lists :) The first two columns are things the person needs and the third are things they have to do, including Call BOTH Sweta and Ashley. Sweta is a name. And assuming that this was found recently, a lot of the items seem to relate to an easter party. And car wipes are used to keep the interior of the car clean, I have some, they are nice. Other than that, my question is - Who/what is George? PS - eva in jville, congrats on the recovery! Sounds like you're going strong :)

congratulations "George"! Your find-of-the-day received the largest number of redundant (and repetitive) comments!! w00t!!

From the looks of Claritan and Delsym making the list, I think an outside party is planned.

Am I a huge nerd to have a flutter of excitement that somebody else knows the wonderment of Delsym as a cough syrup? The stuff _RULES_ 12 hours of non-stop relief and a tasty orange flavor! :o)
+ March 16, 2007 02:39 PM +
Strong enough for a man in but pH balanced for a woman.
When I need deodorant, I put "pit-guard" on my list. Then I put on my pimp socks and go to the market.

Maybe it is a mother who is getting pink socks for her daughter who ONLY wears pink socks. It happens.. Can little kids have birthday paries at Main Event? I always see one not far from here, but I've never been in. She could be getting film for the party, and thank you notes for all the junk the little girl will be getting for her birthday.

George, Sachin, and Sweta are all Indian names, actually. (I'd even bet Ashley is an American-born Indian girl.) People's names on a shopping list is probably because they want to get them a gift, but don't know what it it's going to be yet.

As for Laurie in FL - it is common for Indian/Pakistani folk to abbreviate "deodorant," even when they say it out loud.

I have a different opinion on the color of the socksI think the pink socks might be pink to identify them as belonging to the list maker and to stop other people in her(I really think this is a woman)family from wearing them.
My brothers swipe my mom's white socks,so she gets pink, which they would never be caught dead in! tee-hee

maybe this person has sock stealing male relatives. :)
