Found in a house that once belonged to Thomas Hornsby Ferril, the late poet laureate of Denver. Writing classes and workshops are now held in the building, but in the basement boxes of forgotten items line the walls. This picture was found in a dusty old trunk and was accompanied a letter that was postmarked in July 1938.

The room of the clean-shaven squatter. This documentation of desolation is overwhelming and yet strangely warm. I have had this and a few other very interesting photos of similar for many years. I found them in a box or a book from an antique store.

This tiny post-it note was found stuck to a desk in the library at Uni. It sounds like a serious analysis until you read the poetic and rather depressing final line, when it then sounds like a script from a drama-filled CSI episode!

Found in between the pages of a book I was leafing through at Goodwill. It was in a little envelope with Faulkner Flowers in San Marcos, TX, on it. I also found a brochure for a workshop on reaping your social security benefits circa 1991 in the same book. I'd love to know what the other stuff was, and how good it must have been if flowers were only second best.

I was shopping around at Bookmans and found note on the inside front cover of "The Encyclopedia Neurotica." I would have bought the book anyway, and this find was an added bonus.

I was volunteering at the recycling center that is part of my elementary school. I was digging through a trash-can, sorting things into paper, plastic, cardboard. I grabbed this out and laughed boisterously - this kid obviously knows what's up.
