I am not saying that if you don't have a full labor/delivery and if you don't breastfeed you WILL CERTAINLY be depressed... I am saying that I believe the lack of those things puts one at more risk for suffering from postpartum depression. There is a reason for that hormone release- and in my opinion (and that of many, many midwives, obgyn's, etc across the country) the declining number of pregnancies that end with that lovely love hormone is causing an increase in cases of ppd. more»
