I LOVE Robert Keim's photo finds! This year I got a new job and inherited an art room and an old photo lab at our high school and haven't found a single good find in it anywhere. Very disappointing.  more»

I love clowns! My daughter was a clown for Halloween when she was two, so it's cool to see this find on Halloween. My mother took up clowning as a hobby after she retired after working for 25+ years as an elementary school librarian.…  more»

In my experience, summer camp is overrated. My B&W Brownie Box Camera photos make everyone look like we're havin' the best of times.. chopping wood, eating from mess kits, learning to tie knots, gluing dried beans on boards to make designs, stitching leather wallets with strips of colored vinyl, feeding the goats, canoeing in the "lake" (in reality it was a pond).…  more»

I think the date is 1968, not 1988. It looks like a 6 behind her hair, not an 8. Both of them have hairstyles that look more like 1968 than 1988.…  more»

@child of the 50s in suburbia, your teachers showed you pictures like this to try to encourage you to make up stories!? I personally know teachers who actually use stuff from Found as writing prompts!

I think the letter is definitely real. That onion skin paper was "erasable" typing paper, but in this case, Papa probably used carbon copies to send to the YMCAs, so did not correct the typos. Steppenwolf was a popular book in the 1960s.…  more»
